yep, Bob's son...anyone else expecting us to draft him??...here's a scouting report of Michael from the Combine, courtesy of Top Drawer:

"Michael Bradley, another Project-40 signee, didn’t look out of place as a 16-year-old. But he will need seasoning and is better served going the professional route. Listed as forward, but played sparingly up top; used more in midfield on the right and in the center as a holding mid. He showed flashes of being a good holding midfielder – vision, passing, holding the ball and cutting off passing lanes. Experience will only improve is already brilliant soccer brain. One team mate on his Predator Pulse squad was just amazed at his abilities and the way he plays as a 16 year-old (credit to the U.S. residency program)."

...probably the best review i've ever heard regarding bob's son, usually people are quicker to criticize his abilities...what do you guys think??

Sounds like he's ours with 3rd or 4th round pick. Probably some type of gentleman's agreement that he is ours. Mark it down.

    Definitely ours

I think the MLS trend for anyone under 18 is to have them 'picked' by a local team, local to where that kid lives so they don't have to incur any additional expenses for the players housing, care, etc. Being on a local team allows the player to live at home.

This is why we got Gaven, DC is getting Adu, so if Michael lives with dad, he's definitely ours. The real question is what pick we'll 'have to' use on him. Not sure if MLS would 'force' the Metros to use a higher pick on him as part of the gentlemen's agreement that no other team take him. Look at what Dallas/DC had to do for Adu and though Bradley is no Adu, you get the idea.

    LET'S GO METRO!!!

I think this kid is going to make all the reactionaries on the nepotism thread look like the idiots they are. I hope Metro is able to snag him, though I think 21 would be too high (I'd go for Taylor or Detter if either is available).

One problem though: With Clint gone, who's going to make beer runs for all our youngsters? It's time for a leader to step up to the bar.

I think you mean "belly" up to the bar. And the real question is who is going to live in Clint's house? And will they keep getting deliveries of Bud Light for the basement taps?

I don't think we'll have any trouble "snagging" Bradley in the draft. Geography and nepotism will see to it. Our main priority in the draft has to be a young keeper, though.

I think that's one of our priorities. The first thing I'd look for, though, is a striker - perhaps either Taylor or Detter will fall to us at 21. I'd also jump on any quality central defender we can find.

Maybe Clint will rent his house out to all the U-21s on the team? Clark, Gaven, Magee and Bradley... maybe one or two more if we pick up some developmental players. It'd be like Metros Animal House.

what about the metrostars drafting that young keeper they placed on their roster when howard first left and we only had pants. He is the roving keeper or something for the MLS?? Maybe use 4th or 5th rounder for this guy as he is young and must have some potential.
