It's still very early. I like his optimism and bravery in playing so many young players but I need to see a couple of months and how teams scout and adjust first.
Of course. But I find that my interest in MLS is directly proportional to the playing time of the US' best young players.
I'll rehash a topic from the USN&A group. Julian Hall has improved his understanding of the CF position since the U17 WC. Currently my candidate for breakout player of 2026.
I'm for it too but can't get too excited until I see how it goes. SDFC was doing this last year although the players weren't quite as young. They're still doing so I hope Bradley keeps it up too. FCD used to do it and I'm upset they don't anymore.
He coached these guys when he was in his previous role, so there is a sense of familiarity and knowing their games. I think it's right place, right time, and a willingness to take a chance
I can't get too excited about it because the majority of young talent we are talking about are dual nats. Che - Germany Mehmeti - Albania Hall - Poland Dos Santos - Brazil Mehmeti and Hall are prime candidates to be lured away.
.....................also the talent of the players. Julian Hall and Adri Mehmeti were high profile USYNTers before Bradley got to RBNY II. They were for a reason. Julian Hall debuted for the RBNY as long ago as 2024. I remember when they first signed him they couldn't play him in night games due to child labor laws in New Jersey!!! [Hall was my pick for MLS young breakout player last year. I thought they were going to give him a chance LAST year.]
They weren't exactly man marking Mehmeti today like they did last time, but they were dropping Prince into the passing lane to disrupt the build. I'm surprised more teams don't do this when playing them. They have trouble when that option isn't there.
Yeah Montreal did a great job disrupting the pipeline from Mehmeti to the attackers. Meanwhile Hall has somehow turned into a young BWP. He has really improved his movement and finishing.
