The announcers mentioned during the USWNT game against Iceland that Mia Hamm is getting married to Nomar Garciaparra. I have to admit I'd never heard this before. I thought Mia was married to a Marine pilot named Chris something. What happened?

Mia and Christiaan got divorced a little over a year ago. She and Nomar started dating a few months after that and got engaged during Thanksgiving.

In one USWNT match, Wendy Gebaurer said Mia got a new boat.

Wedding bells: Yes, Garciaparra confirmed his winter engagement to Hamm. No, the couple has yet to set a date.

"Yes, I will be getting married eventually," Garciaparra said. "When we find time and our schedules permit, I'm sure we'll get married. It's wonderful."

I'm completely clueless. When did Hamm and this bloke start seeing each other?
