I have done so much reading with this bidat times I lose track. Wasn't Beckham talking to a group from Qatar?
Its official, ever since it was rumored to be around 2019 or beyond before MLS Miami becomes a reality, this section has died. Sigh
Seems like the ownership group has a lot of big name owners, but are there any "workers" doing the grunt work required to get a community benefits agreement in place, navigate city bureaucracy, etc.? There doesn't seem to be a big push from ownership or a clamoring fan base. As an MLS fan that makes me worried that the league is locking into a weak situation.
I saw this just now on the "Inter Miami AFC" Facebook. Is this official (seems early)? I would think this shortens to Miami Inter, not Inter Miami. https://www.facebook.com/intermiami...if_t=notify_me_page¬if_id=1475970908083931
Link doesn't work or it has been removed. Miami International would absolutely get confused with the airport. Surely they would do International Miami. I am sure this isn't official. Appears to just be a fan page. They only have 80 likes. I sure hope that doesn't' represent the interest in Miami for MLS. Again, the lack of news coming out of Miami for months and months is deafening.
This design is way too busy, they should remove the triangle and the opposing semicircles. It took me forever to figure out there is an M and I in there. Looks like a baleful symbol Indiana Jones would find etched on a cursed tomb. And why with the crossbones? Yes, it's basically a low effort NYCFC ripoff.
I think there is an "A" "F" and "C" in there also. The triangle appears to be an "A" and the opposing semi circles the "F" and "C" What does the "A" stand for in M.I.A.F.C.? M = Miami I = International A = ?? F= Football C = Club
Association (or Athletic, but that's pretty bad). The triangle and the slanted lines above it kind of give me a Mr. Yuk vibe.
Make all the logos you want, but there isn't going to be MLS in Miami, it will never happen and the sooner the League gives up on it, they can move on to more deserving cities
No. Greater Miami is over twice the size of Vegas and has a more appealing international image. That matters to Becks and his pals. When Atlanta starts next year, Greater Miami will be the only area of over 6 million without an MLS team. Those are must have markets for leagues over 24 teams. Will the league be willing to wait until the stadium situation is favorably resolved? Almost certainly. But a spot will be held for them as long as it takes. Could Sacramento, Detroit, Cincinnati, and/or somewhere else start play before Miami? Sure.
I read in the Italian sports daily today that Maldini & Nesta's Miami team at FIU had a horrible surface. Becks most likely will not play there not even temporarily....
No. The venue is thoroughly not major league. It's excellent for Sun Belt Conference football and big HS football games. It's surface isn't great for soccer, but the rest of the venue is very suitable for lower division teams. Far too spartan for MLS; it makes the initial, unimproved Crew Stadium seem impressive.
Yeah....it's becoming more and more obvious that Miami aint coming into the league anytime soon. From afar, it also seems like this is more of an ownership issue as opposed to a city/legislative issue like last time. Sacramento is on the clock.
Why doesn't MLS just give Miami the middle finger and move on?. The town is a joke Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
