Jan 18 Lockhart/Ft Lauderdale, I95 on Commercial USA-Canada 7:30 Pm (tickets are selling fast) $ 17, 25, 40 at www.ussoccer.com or Ticketmaster sFlorida fan club www.biktop.net/soflastrikers/
Do you thinik they will remove the Fusion logos at the stadium for the game? It would be rather embarrassing for the game to be televised with a huge reminder of the contraction of the Fusion so blatant. Even Horrorspit can't be that insensitive, surely (will he be there, I wonder?)
I am sure most paraphernalia, will stay...they are not going to take out the seats ???? stay tuned...all sounds like the USA - ARGENTINA, WILL BE MOVED TO LOCKHART/FT. LAUDERDALE along with, and part of a double header WOMEN international. FEB 8th STAY TUNED.
Oh, no! I hope they don't move the Orange Bowl game. I have already drummed up support for about a dozen people, but they won't go as far as Lockhart. I am glad they have combined the games, but was happy with the existing arrangement of one game at Lockhart and one at the Orange Bowl.
IT IS FINAL...FINALLY USA- ARGENTINA ORANGE BOWL, FEB 8th 12pm for ticket info http://www.ussoccer.com/tickets/more_info.sps?ticketType=ARG] www.biktop.net/soflastrikers/
Can someone explain the ticket situation to me. I live in Central Florida but the tickets for the Argentina game wont be available to by here yet. Is the time lag to give people in Miami the Chance of buyng tickets first.? I mean I can wait until they go on sale nationally but I was wondering if that's the reason they go on sale in s. Florida first. Sorry if this is a naive question but I'm not that familiar with the way ticketmaster works. Thanks
there are a few ticketmaster tel #'s on the link above...including one for Ft Myers, there should not be a dif.... from one ticketmaster to the other, once they go on sale. I am sure that there will be plenty on tickets to go around, 75,000+ seats at the OB But if there is a dif, order on the phone ussing the Miami tel, and have them delivered at your place.
happy Hollidays, FUSION fans, Strikers, and Afusionados May Santa hear our wishes. FUSION 2001 contracted BUT NOT duplicated see you all at the games
I've been to only a few friendlies--Mutiny vs Glasgow Celtic and a couple involving the old Rowdies and they were for the most part sorry affairs. Teams made up largely of subs or players not even on the teams. I'd love to go to the US vs. Argentina friendly, but I don't want to drive that far if the game is really going to really be two pick-up teams with unlimited substitutions and most players sleep walking through the game. Does anybody have any info as whether this is going to be a real game or scrimmage between two imitation national teams. Thanks for any input.
You'll see a competitive match between two young teams trying to impress their coaches. If you're a USA Supporter, get your tickets for both matches here and sign up for the USA Supporters Mailing List by sending a blank E-mail to usasupporters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Thanks, Sachin
good info, Sachin.. www.biktop.net/soflastrikers/ RawdiesToMutiny... No way you will be disappointed.. we need many USA fans at the game... so make sure you come. Last game USA vs Col. was a great game at the OB and there are 1/4 mil Argentinians living in S FL Past June 36.000 fans showd up at the OB for the River vs Boca Jr game I have not seen any internationals, here that did not give us the moneys worth. We have very though fans, expecting the best possible soccer. and dont forget the USA-Canada, good US roster, and the Canadians dont want to lose..
got it... Outside a couple articles, and on line info... I can say...that US soccer Feds, are doing a poor job on promoting both games ( at least so far)
Thanks leca... I'm not surprised there has been very little promotion for these games. The Fed has made a lot of money the past few years. I'm surprised so little of it has gone into marketing. I guess it all goes to buying TV time. Sachin
USA Supporter? Hmm.. What is that? A jock strap made in Wisconsin??? ;-) I am a card carrying member of Sam's Army... http://www.sams-army.com Cheers...

I'm a soccer fan. I attended 5 matches at the '94 world cup, including the final. Woke up for all the '02 USA games and more than my fair share of the others. I also held 6 season tickets for each year of the Fusion. Why do I say this? Not because I think I'm any more of a fan than anyone else on this board... I KNOW that's NOT the case. But I point it out to establish the point that I pay attention when I hear about a soccer game in South Florida. Which brings me to this point: I haven't heard ANYTHING about ANY soccer matches ANYWHERE in South Florida outside of Big Soccer. Today, for example is the first time I learned that Honduras and Bayer Leverkusen were playing in the Orange Bowl. Excuse me WHAT? The Honduran national team? Bayer Leverkusen? Are they going to wear dreadlocked wigs and dark sunglasses so they can complete their clandestine appearance? And unfortunately, the same is true for the January 18 game at Lockhart and the February 8th game against Argentina. I don't get it. I don't understand it. I think its ridiculous. How hard is it to pump the Miami Herald for two paragraphs? How much can a billboard cost? A spot on the radio? A quarter page ad in the New Times? So no one will show and we'll be left trying to explain that no, *really*, people *do* like soccer in south florida.
You are correct, the promotion of the games is very poor... I think the USA-Argentina will get more atention, but it is a month away. Y 100 ( radio ) ran some adds for the Lockhart game.. and the Sentinel had a few notes on both games and the Honduras-Bayer, game a couple weeks ago, also Mihelle Kaufman from the Hearald had some info on the games, but you got to dig deep...to find it. It hardly constitutes promoting games to get large crowds.... I dont get it ??? But we alwasy manage to get fair size crowd ? http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/soccer/sfl-rusnak12jan12,0,4644020.column?coll=sfla-sports-soccer http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/soccer/4929369.htm for early local info on soccer events in S FL log on and join the fan club...... http://www.biktop.net/soflastrikers/ see you all at the games..
I drove to Lockhart yesterday to try to pick tickets up for next week. Guess what? Not only was the ticket office unmanned, but there wasn't even a single poster advertising the game! The place looked like a ghost town. So, I drove to the closest pub and guess what? They didn't even know there was a game on!!! So much for getting the word to locals, eh? Just who is (ir)responsible for promoting this game - it is just unacceptable???
you must listen to 1260 and 1160AM call the OB for calendar of events! email the herald.com no, do not miss the 5 or 6games of preaseason for 4 top teams from southamerica at the orange Bowl www.torneodelasamericas.com
i dont feel like going through ticketmaster for the Canada game, think i'll be able to buy them at the gate?
I believe the ticket office will open at 5:30 (for the 7:30 kickoff) - according to TicketMaster, anyway. I wouldn't imagine there being any difficulty getting tickets as the game isn't being promoted much.
Get there 1 hour early...you will be OK Ps Stuart, US Soccer Fed is responsible for the promotions, or lack of... we should have a fair size crowd.... BLUE....for Fusion, Mutiny, and Florida soccer.. BLUE.. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/4929367.htm I would get the USA-Argentina tickets early...
5 tickets...I'm dragging along 4 casual fans. I'll probably be so worried about whether THEY are having a good time that I'll forget to enjoy myself.
7 tickets... and working on a few more I am certain, it will be fun Pablo.. I cant wait to hear the fans reaction ! snorklefish... did you check this out yet ???? www.biktop.net/soflastrikers/
