My first loss was so unlucky. Hope I still win and make it to round 2.

    Supporters Cup Round Three

Perhaps avoiding blowing his own horn, Mark hasn't posted the
Round Three Groupings here on BS yet. There are two groups. Mark (NFLPatriot) is the top seed in Goup M:

    Halmstad Swedes (NFLPatriot)
    Revolutionfan (revolutionfan)
    Out of Touch United (Out_of_Touch)
    YourPersonalJesus (JMMUSA8)

But Group N is definitetly the "Group of Death":

    Sidekicks
    Fighting Chipmunks (PiwoProsze)
    FC Gasaraki (Andy_B)
    Team Hodja Striker

Group M has a team whose coach hasn't made a move since June 30 (Out_of_Touch) and one that hasn't done a thing since May 2 (JMMUSA8). Group N has the two finalist of the RevMFLS Cup and two teams that are being actively managed.

Amazingly, revolutionfan and JMMUSA8 actually have multiple Revs on their teams and they are still in the competetion. (So I guess we know who won't be winning Group M ;) )

True, I don't like blowing my own horn, but it's actually because I've been real busy this week.

    Thanks for filling in!

Loyalty Cup in the home stretch

    And in other news...

The Loyalty Cup is now all but a three horse race.

Olympique Foxboro needs a Revs-like run to make it to third (i.e. he needs 100 each week to RevsRock03's 76...not very likely)

Revolutionfan has made his statement selling three Revs and only buying two (Ruiz for Twellman just rubs salt in the wound) so he can only get 75 maximum each week now. As long as the three teams ahead of him play four Revs each week he will fall off the pace by at least one point each week.

So that leaves it to RevsRock03 and me to catch YourPersonalJesus who has not touched his team since week 5! (and he, JMMUSA8, is still alive in the Supporters Cup as well!) I will be quite distraught if he coasts to victory on the back of a a benched Cancela putting up zeroes to beat Dempsey and Ralston's negative points!

Arrrrrgh! Masochism FC is suffering a "counter-revolution" i.e. I've been in first or second all year in the Loyalty Cup and now with only five games left I've slipped to third?!?!?! Ah, but the good news is that even with the updated numbers (Jeremy I also checked and it seems that round 24's scores were not added to the totals) it looks like only Revolutionfan has a shot of knocking me out of the competition for swag. And he has to average 98.2 points per week, a truly N E Revolutionary task!

Now, should JMMUSA8's YourpersonalJesus win this thing in the end I suppose there will be ironic justice in the team that has ignored the competition since week 5 will have won an unattainable jersey from a manufacturer who has ignored production ;)

    Loyalty Cup finalists

It's now official, the top three teams in the initial Loyalty Cup will be RevsRock03, YourPersonalJesus, and Masochism FC as long as they each manage at least 76 points for each of the final four weeks (i.e. they must start 4 Revs each week). Only 21 points separate first and third at the moment so each week can bring a new leader.

Since all three teams have Nicol as coach and have been starting Twellman and Noonan, the race appears to be down to the number four choice. RevsRock holds the lead due to his wise choice of the currently in-form Ralston. YPJ has slipped to second by going with the dog-housed Cancela. I have placed my faith in the not-yet-fully-recovered (?) Dempsey. Now let's see what the last four weeks bring.

I've been out of town, so the website won't be updated until noon Wed (9/29).

    RS Cup Round 3

However, unofficially it looks like Halmstad Swedes vs Sidekicks in the finals.

    Finals, Leg One

Neither team covered themselves in glory, with (appropriately) Revs personnel provided the bulk of the points. The Swedes (Ralston, Nicol) put up 6 points to Sidekicks (Noonan) 4.

    RS Cup Finals

Leg 2 will determine the winner.

    Re: Finals, Leg One

Well shame on you two for not playing four Revs. Reis, Ralston, Twellman and Nicol would have brought 23 points. And substitute Noonan or Cancela for Nicol and that number becomes 25!

In a convoluted effort to gain on the leaders of the Loyalty Cup I went with Richie Baker while Ralston and Cancela got big points. I guess it's time for a Hail Mary!

    Re: Finals, Leg One

    AAAAARGH!!!!

Instead of Ave Maria, it's Mea Culpa! I thought that the coach transfer was in addition to the other transfers. Thus, thinking that I had enough transfers to change two field players and the coach I decided to throw a Hail Mary and drop Nicol so I could go with four Revs on the field. But after transfering Baker for Dempsey and Sampson for Nicol, I could not make any more transfers!!! FWIW I was going to transfer Paule for Ralston.

So now I can only get a max of 75 points each of the remaining weeks, effectively giving away the Loyalty Cup. Ah, but the sweet agony of being a Revs fan means that it is never too early to say, "wait until next year"
