Welcome all to the BCFA Division. Here is the first installment of the Weekly Financial Management Report that reflects how well each manager drafted financially.

A perfect financial draft obtained all players with 100 value in transfer fee, for a total of 1800. Anyone close to 1800 will not have to worry about using up salary cap as transfer fee and can build a transfer fee slush fund as they make their trades.

    1800 Aviators
    1800 Millville United FC
    1774 Darcian Greywacke
    1745 Midnights Children
    1708 Top Shelf
    1700 Bandeirantes Internacional
    1600 Maccabees
    1570 Guinness Gulpers F.C.
    1565 Phoenix TS
    1550 Shaolin Mystigods
    1521 Cape Tribulation
    1509 Surreywood Rangers
    1455 Sehome Mariners
    1402 FC Metrofan CP
    1398 Alewive FC
    1355 France F.C.
    1324 Carabinas Real
    1260 Pioneer Detasselers
    1241 Abracadabra
    1221 J.C. Comets
    1179 The St. Louis Cure
    1158 Real Hillsdale
    1141 MurphDogs
    961 Philadelphia Atoms

    Wk 1 Adjusted Financial Management

Reposting Week 1 BCFA Financial Management for:
    a) Inclusion of transfer fee for coaches
    b) Correction of having left out GK TF of 100 for Bandeirantes Internacional.
    c) Reflection of our division's first transfer: I am predicting David Thomas of Top Shelf traded Chacon and acquired Martinez.

With coaches having transfer value, a perfect draft will be 1900 instead of 1800. If you need a quick 100 transfer fee and initially chose Bradley or Schmid as your coach, you can exercise the one time coach transfer option to Gansler and bank a quick 100 in your transfer slush fund since Gansler is still listed as 0 TF.

    Total Team Name
    Transfer
    Value

    1900 Aviators
    1900 Bandeirantes Internacional
    1900 Millville United FC
    1806 Darcian Greywacke
    1777 Midnights Children
    1768 Top Shelf
    1700 Maccabees
    1652 Guinness Gulpers F.C.
    1624 Phoenix TS
    1622 Shaolin Mystigods
    1581 Surreywood Rangers
    1580 Cape Tribulation
    1502 FC Metrofan CP
    1501 Sehome Mariners
    1498 Alewive FC
    1455 France F.C.
    1396 Carabinas Real
    1360 Pioneer Detasselers
    1341 Abracadabra
    1321 J.C. Comets
    1241 MurphDogs
    1217 Real Hillsdale
    1211 The St. Louis Cure
    1043 Philadelphia Atoms

All teams except Top Shelf still have 33 transfers left; Top Shelf has 32 left.

Top Shelf also added 59 to his transfer fee slush fund with his first trade. The rest of the teams still have a zero transfer fee slush fund.

    The St. Louis Cure trades?

A second manager has entered the trade world.

Kirk Lodes, manager of The St. Louis Cure, has made two moves. He gained 30 K in salary available and banked 146K in his transfer slush fund.

    My guess on his moves:

Dropped Bocanegra and Convey and picked up Martinez and Burciaga.

    Carabinas Real burns 3 transfers

And yet another manager enters the transfer market in week 1. Scott Foster, manager of Carabinas Real burned 3 transfers without banking any money in the transfer fee slush fund, but he did free up 110 K in salary. My guess of who he released: Chacon, Eskandarian, and Shak. Have no idea who he picked up. Have greater confidence in the Chacon and Eskandarian estimates and less about Shak.

    Preston makes his first transfer

Out intrepid divisioin administrator and conductor of all these competitions has made his first transfer for the season. He gained 50 K in salary available but nothing added to the transfer slush fund.

My take is he dropped either Ralston or Henderson. Of those two, I think he dropped Ralston and picked up Chung.

Revision to Analysis of Kirk Lodes trades

I miss-read the 146 K as gained transfer fund value and not what it actually was, a permanent loss of 146K of salary cap. This puts an entirely different spin on the two trades made by Kirk Lodes of The St. Louis Cure.

My revised prediction is he dropped Vallow and Moreno and picked up two players with 100 K transfer fee values and a combined salary of 270 K.

My guess of the acquisitions are Buddle and Henderson.

BTW, permanently using up salary cap so early in the season is a desparation move.

    Abracadabra's First Trade

Ron Gerard has made his first trade of the season without using up any salary cap or gaining any transfer slush fund. He did spend 5 K more in salary.

This suggests he traded for someone that cost 5 K more in salary with the same transfer fee. Trading Thornton for either Howard or Beasley would work, but my guess is he traded Stewart for NYM Ricardo Clark.

Wow, what an honor to have made the first Brew City transfer. Obviously it was predetermined, and you are dead on. Planning on making one more this week, just need to do a little more research and pull the trigger at the right time.

    Bandeirantes Internacional's First Trade

Bandeirantes Internacional, managed by Zack Lennon, has made his first move. He's cleared up 35K in salary while banking 93 K in the transfer slush fund. Zack, with a perfect financial draft of 1900, must be positioning for another move as well.

Predict Zack dropped Hejduk and acquired Col defender Stewart.

It was a tough choice. He also could have dropped Hendrickson or Lalas. Of those three, I'm guessing he dropped surfer boy.

    Darcian Greywacke's First Transfer

Jason Dudakis, manager of Darcian Greywacke, has made his first transfer of the season. He gained 50 K in salary cap available and did not bank anything in the transfer fee slush fund.

Prediction: Dropped McBride and acquired Wolff.

First Transfer for Maccabees and Midnights Children

Scott Blinder, manager of Maccabees, and Jay Jones, manager of Midnights Children have made their first transfer.

For Scott's Maccabees, predict he dropped McBride and added Wolff. Scott made 50 K more available under the salary cap and did not bank anything in the Transfer Fee Slush Fund.

For Jay's Midnights Children, predict he dropped Cunningham and added Simutenkov. Jay made 10K more available under the salary cap and banked 80 K in the Transfer Slush Fund.

John Lore, manager of Millville United, made his first transfer: Predict John dropped Chacon and acquire Bo-Mong Hong.

Dave Thomas, manager of Top Shelf, made his second transfer for Week 1. Predict he dropped Corrales for Gutierrez.

Millville United: Predicted drop Countess, add Martinez. NO CREDIT. Actually, he dropped Conrad and added Whitfield.

Top Shelf: Predicted drop Chacon and Corrales, add Martinez and Gutierrez. 1/2 CREDIT. He did drop Chacon for Martinez, but actual second trade was to drop Victorine and add Carrieri.

Alewive F.C.: Predicted drop Ralston, add Chung. NO CREDIT. Actual trade was to drop Howard and add Hejduk.

Midnights Children: Predicted drop Cunningham, add Simutenkov. CORRECT

Abracadabra: Predicted drop Stewart, add Ricardo Clark. NO CREDIT. Actual trade was to drop Swenda and add Nugent.

Total score 4 2/3 correct out of predictions for 10 teams.

Total transfers 16; only 7 correctly predicted.

Ugly first week of trade predictions. It would help if managers only made one trade at a time and allow me time to notice the trade and try to figure it out before making a second transfer or more that same week. Multiple transfers get complicated. LOL
