That must be close to the top squad. Only missing top player that jumps out to me Nery "Play for Pounds" Castillo, and he's injured. Anyone else critical gone?

the US very well could lose this game, but I would be very shocked if we get shut-out.

    Its Debbie Downer time.
If we're down 2-0 I'm sure Coach Bradley will signal the troops to begin the mayhem. And there will be no handshakes or shirt exchanges.

they tried that, but the tv contracts couldn't be worked out. (it something about Univision and Telemundo both claiming -- probably correctly -- that they would have sole rights to air in the US a Mex/US friendly that was played in Mexico.

Huge Sanchez - "Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station! "

Landon Donovan - "Nevertheless, I am taking Rafa Marquez and his friends as my bitches. You can either quit now or be destroyed. It's your choice, but I warn you not to underestimate my power."

I think this is Mexico's top team except for Castillo and maybe Guille Franco (Villareal) instead of Bautista (who never shows his superb talent with the Nats). It was good to hear that Hugo gave Franco some love and sent Villareal a letter that we would call him up for Feb. 6th but Franco did not recover from his injury. Franco was a starter over Nihat alongside Rossi and is the teams leading scorer in the Copa Del Rey with 3. Nihat has been improving and there is no guarantee we would start now but he is a very good player and should be considered.

I'm glad MEX is basically bringing their full squad, minus Castillo. Yeah, it's a friendly, but as we all know, when we play MEX, it's not your typical friendly. Should be a great match, that hopefully results in a W for us. 5 more days!!!

i hate to say it, but i will be pleasantly surprised if we keep the final scoreline within one goal. this looks like a very strong mexico team. they desperately want to end their losing streak to us. we'll see how it goes though, our guys, even if it is our C team, always seem to step it up against mexico.

Anybody want to guess what the split will be between USA and MEX fans at the stadium? Is 30/70 accurate?!?!

Mexico will be lookin to use some speed via Guardado/Vela/Gio to actually ATTACK, rather than just loft it up for a Borgetti who would just get outmuscled by even the skinniest defender. I wont be surprised if Bradley is extra cautious and the US plays a defense-based game.

For this reason alone, I wouldnt be surprised if this game ended up in a tie, although I want Mexico to win

they're Mexico. They'll endlessly pass it around the midfield because they think they're Argentina.

I will be interesting to see.
Last time we played Mexico was the first time I saw the US playing straight up without mostly counterattacking. I'll take another game like that as a sign of progress regardless of the score. However, maybe we are Italy and that suits us better especially with the lack of creativity in the box.

And I'll be at the stadium drunk, loud and obnoxious because I think I'm English.

Osorio and Galindo would have helped.

Otherwise, this is not a good defensive team.

I would have picked both (if healthy), played Marquez in deep midfield and Sinha in front of him in a "Y".

Magallon doesn't match up well with the US forwards. The German based defenders are at least equipped to handle size.

Hugol will probably go with the "Empty Bucket" as well.

    It will be boring.

    Winner decided by a set-piece.

I seem to recall before this fixture last year there was a lot of talk of us losing 2-0 because Mexico brought its A team and we brought a bit of a mish mash.

We all remember how that turned out.

    2-0 USA
