What's the metric? When they were 2-1, the commentators and people on twitter confirmed, Oviedo would go up.

They better get a Mexa or two there. Montiel would make tons of sense. They could "loan him" for free and if he gets a good season or two at the top flight, a big team will most likely knock with a lot of money and if not, Chivas or Tigres offers will always be there.
@Salmos do you think they somewhat dismantle Pachuca and/or León to keep Oviedo afloat? I mean, in theory keeping a team in the top flight of La Liga or even in European spots would be more valuable than a Liga MX championship. I could see them sending them guys like James, Idrissi, Montiel and/or someone like Nicolás Fonseca or Alexei Domínguez without really spending a penny and then buying maybe a striker and a center-back to make a team with real legs there.
I don't know anything about their finances so it's hard to say how far they'll have to dig to create a competitive team. But I wouldn't expect to see a ton of our prospects over there any time soon. It isn't really risk-taking time. Only dude I see being ready for the challenge is maybe Moreno, but I doubt they need to go abroad to find good goalkeepers. You're probably going to hear a ton about Montiel but idk. He's tiny, has a liga mx build, and even here is pretty inconsistent.
James and Iddrissi are 70% goners to me, though. Good players who could comfortably start day 1 there, comunitarios and looking for either rhythm or a spot in the WC.
The slave owner has been the weakest link for Costa Rica in this tournament and needs all the encouragement he can get, even if it is disingenuous. Miguel, being the 5D chess grandmaster that he is, knows that that scrub has been ass and is doing everything in his power to bring him out of the state of mediocrity that he is stuck in, even if it is just for this one crucial game. While I applaud the tactic, I wholeheartedly oppose outright lying to a person.
De esas historias que nos regala el futbol. Cuando Real Oviedo descendió a la Segunda División de España en 2001, Veljko Paunović era jugador del cuadro asturiano.
