Hockey has it right by allowing fighting and having unwritten rules around fighting...this shit wouldn't happen in football if they allowed fighting...this is a game misconduct and a 5 minute power play. smh

No. Institutional racism is a deeper problem within football that violence will not solve... Professional Hockey doesn't have to deal with the historical national beefs European countries often have... Racism exists everywhere within world football but its particularly bad in Europe. While it might make us feel good to see a racist get his ass beat, this is not a wise approach. Violence, like racism doesn't belong in sports, period. Players guilty of racism or otherwise discriminatory conduct should see bans of months or even years and clubs should be fined in the millions of Euros for first offenses and be docked minimum of 5 to 10 points for one off infractions and automatic relegation or expulsion for repeated offenses... UEFA fines/penalties are a joke... I won't lose any sleep if a racist player gets his ass beat but allowing players to take matters into their own hands is a mistake especially when many of these countries cannot be counted on to do the right thing as far as security and policing...
This is the thing. Players would hold each other accountable, which is what happens in hockey. You say some stupid shit you either have to answer for it or a teammate of yours has to answer for it. You can't spout off without having to pay for it in some way. In football players spout off all the time and never have to answer for it. Maybe they get fined if they get caught, bit more often than not they get away with it. Why? Because the structures support racism and defend white players and fans and give them every benefit of the doubt. If the players were allowed to police themselves you'd have white players standing up for black players and vice versa. You would have statements being made. Violence is inherently an aspect of sport and not allowing that violence to manifest itself in fights leads to dirty tackles, plays, and racist taunts.
It wouldn't shock me if a player in an Eastern European country or even Italy got arrested and then beat up by cops after taking matters into his own hands by beating up a racist player...
Also players could always use racism or something else as an excuse to attack an opposing player they simply don't like. Hockey doesn't have Ultras that would attack an opposing team's bus. It's too different a situation... apples and oranges. Letting players handle it might work in a place like England that has a better control on hooligans but not in Italy or France or some other countries...

Again, I'm talking about a complete culture change. Where the players fight and there are rules. Not as it stands in the current state.

Colombia proving that Adidas is still capable of making dope jerseys sin pendejadas... That Japan 2010 home jersey still probably in my top 3 all time... Don't generally support Spain and hardly ever in a situation where I find myself wanting Argentina to win but Adidas does well with those also... Mexico 2012 third jersey is nice also... very clean...
