Rafa makes some good points if overblown in typical fashion You could play devil’s advocate that some disruption could provide an opportunity to break up the cartel de cabelleros and their worst tendencies I think maybe you’re right, though? Who cares about MLS?
Pulido's $0.02 on why he went to MLS: I mean, I guess he can't just bluntly say "they're paying me more"...but that last reason doesn't make sense. Even if MLS has more exposure (through TV deals and/or just for existing in the US), European clubs are well aware of Liga MX and pick up players from there all the time. Unless he's saying b/w the lines that it's easier to leave an MLS team for Europe, which - well, Chivas have their well-earned reputation for scuttling deals at this point.
I think that's just a line that the league feeds them. I remember Luis Hernandez said the same thing about MLS giving him better exposure for Europe. Guy was like 31 at the time.

They are the same people that were worried about the USMNT turning into a powerhouse by 2010 and keep moving the date of their eventual global dominance every world cup cycle. There are just two options, they are right and MLS will become the best league in the world but in this case the biggest beneficiaries will be players from latin america and especially mexican players due to marketing reasons as MLS has shown for almost three decades that they would rather buy players than develop them, if they are wrong then things are just going to stay as usual with MLS either folding in a few years due to their terrible management of money or just keep existing as a mediocre league like most of the leagues on the planet.
Plus they're ignoring prime-age players moving the other way like the two duses that went to Pumas and Acosta joining Atlas. That's the way I see things going for the next several years if not the next decade: youngsters from south of the border (including Conmebol) going to MLS if they're struggling for minutes in their home country, showing their skills against piss-poor defenses, then, as they're nearing 25, trying to make the jump to Europe (HA!), Liga MX (most likely), or points further south. Eventually, they'll probably go back to MLS for one last bag after 30, or if they really made an impact, they can go to the Gulf or China and really get paid. On that point, if they keep it up, will UNAM change the team's name to PuMLS?
Tbf, Cheech has been trash the last couple years. It’s like he realized he had enough of a legacy already and just switched off.
