you still hear English players, managers etc etc describe the penalty shoot out as a "lottery", it drives me mad ..... that is the very reason we have a poor record at it. Won this one, and I believe this is only the second penalty shoot-out at any international level we have won ..... spain in euro 1996 the first time.... Apparently it was "England's inability to retain possession" that led to the come-back ...... cor blimey that is a surprise....
"There's (Carlos) Salcido, (Ricardo) Osorio, players who are at the highest level and playing, there's (Andres) Guardado. I don't see a single player with those types of characteristics on the United States national team," lol ouch Pineda way to tell it like it is. I think in the Spain game the US won because of athleticism, stamina, determination, and stubbornness at the back, but without a doubt Mexico has the more technically gifted players. Besides, Mexico has a Confed. Cup trophy already in its trophy case so it's like been there, done that.
He was actaully complimenting their system and I agree with a lot that he said...however backhanded it was...did you read the comments, they got all bent! LOL!
http://www.ole.clarin.com/notas/2009/06/26/futbollocal/01947144.html Juan Marcelo Ojeda, current goalkeeper of River Plate, was supposed to be transfered to Atlas for $700,000. To win some time, River decided to take care of the formalities as soon as possible to get him to Guadalajara... ...however, on the drug test there were "anomalies" found in his blood and he will not be traveling to Mexico and he is currently waiting until further notice.
Federico Insúa acudirá ante la FIFA en busca de solución, pues han pasado dos meses sin que el América, dueño de su carta, le pague lo correspondiente a su nómina y no lo dejan entrenar en las instalaciones del club mexicano
apparently he has been living in a hotel for weeks. poor guy, wonder what america has against him. i thought he played well a few seasons ago with them, when they reached the sudamericana final and probably would have won with a neutral ref. he went to training and they didn't give him gear, then the higher ups notified him that he wasn't needed. owned.
I don't get it either, I think Insua played pretty well with America. Why he gets this type of treatment is beyond me...at first I thought the problem was with El Pelado, I guess not.
chucho said he doesn't want him on the team. insua was supposed to return, according to Ramon Diaz...but we all know what happened there.
Its clear that it wasnt El Pelado that betrayed Insua.. Fuck Ordiales and Bauer.. Oh yeah and fuck chucho too, its going to look like kindergarden..
Am I the only one that thinks Brazil is going to bend over and spread it's cheeks for the US tomorrow?
