Mediotiempo has him at 181cm which to my understanding if about 5'11 http://mediotiempo.com/pi/jugador_partido.php?id_jugador=1279&id_torneo=21
i hope he doesnt come back as a worse player..remember campos and matador coming from the MLS? campos recovered but matador was never the same again
Luis Hernandez (Boca)and Beto Garcia Aspe (River) were both sent on loan.. and there is no way that the Argie clubs were going to be able to afford their transfer fee, much less pay their salary which even with pay cut was more than they were paying their top players, which is unheard of in Argentina. Also from LH own account the Boca fans treated him well. El Beto on the other hand got bood off the field a few times, because he would get red carded, usually in the reserve games, which are played before the first team match. In Mexico the fans allways welcome the foreign players with open arms, even if they are unheard of. In Argentina you dont get love untill you prove your worth.
Campos didnt recover because he ran out of cack juice. Luis Hernandez had a good season in Coapa, untill the curse kicked in and then he had the lawsuits for child support for bonning the brazilian consulate's daughter. you lot need to stop hating on the MLS. its one thing not to like the league, but dont be ignorant.
My 2 cents on Loquito Garcia Loquito signed with Chivas USA because they were able to offer him a contract that gave him what he wanted. first and foremost the salary that he feels he should be payed. And second the opportunity to try his luck abroad if the situation presents itself, Which, lets face it, wont happen in the MFL. a Mexie club was not going to pay Atlas 2m and then loan him out to a Euro squad if they came knocking.
Re: Mexico -V- Guatemala This bears repeating. This is a win-win situation for Garcia. He gets to go to a team that plays a similar style where he can intergrate easily with the team. He will get to play gaainst teams that play a similar style of that of his prefered destination-Europe. If he does well at Chivas USA he will be in a great position for transfer as MLS has a precident in dealing with Eurpoean clubs and will offer Garcia for his actual market value not the inflated values Mexican teams place on the heads of their players. He has the chance to be a "Donovan" a big fish in a smaller pond. If he doesn't do well or doesn't get a transfer deal he STILL can go back to MFL and earn and play with Chivas proper. This garbage about MLS being a bad league is overblown. Ask Vergara and Cue if they think MLS is a joke..cause right now they are the ones that have been the joke thus far.
WHy Loco Garcia made a bad choice: While it's true that Loco Garcia MAY have greater chances to go and TRY OUT for a European team, overall his transfer to MLS was not wise. At least, not 1 year away from the World Cup. The World Cup is the top showcase for all players. Players in a world cup roster are much more likely to be considered by a foreign team than those who didn't make it. A player like TORRADO decided to return to MExico rather than spend another year in Spain in order to (aside from making mo $) increase his chances of being evaluated and make it to the World Cup roster! Loco Garcia could have had FAR greater exposure toward the world cup by staying in the MFL and THEN jumping to another league. Hell, why didn't he sign with Chivas instead? Sadly, the MLS is not regarded as a competitive league in MExico. Campos, Luis Hernandez, Hermosillo, etc., actually deteriorated in skill level and gradually lost a spot in the National Team because of that. Even if Loco makes it, to begin with he's not really a first choice player with the national team. In an interview, he said he wouldn' have had enough playing time with America. Well, could it be he's not that... good? I value his will to take a stand against Atlas, but I think he was misled by his agent.
Re: Mexico -V- Guatemala Bopper's a pimp. I want to go to Chicago and party with that dude. Maybe he can hook me up with some chitown mamas.
i am not being ignorant..not only Campos level went down but also he thought everyone they were telling him in the US was true...or did u forget the "im considered the Michale Jordan in my country" commercial?.... i am not being ignorant...is not about liking or not liking the league..it's about playing for a league that's has a lower level than the MFL..
Re: Mexico -V- Guatemala Uh are you sure jlscrub I mean just by the comments he makes on here your gonna tell me he scores with chicks?
Yes, but not a "supporter" if you get my drift. I didn't grow up or anything like that with Cruz Azul. In about 2001 or 2002 I started to watch the mexican league because i finally lived in an area where i could get 3 or 4 spansih television stations. I like the stlye of the mexican league and would make it a point to watch the games when they were on. For whatever reason the 2 teams that always seemed to be on were America and Cruz Azul. I liked their style and began to casualy follow them. So yes i am a fan, but i am not a die-hard or life long supporter. I save that passion for Metro.
Re: Mexico -V- Guatemala Ok, just for arguments sake...expalin to me why Garica's move to MLS is not a win-win for him. And don't give me any wild proclaiations, i want a reasonable and rational arguement.
Re: Mexico -V- Guatemala MExico is now the 8th best league in the world. http://www.esmas.com/deportes/futbol/459197.html
