I looked at the FA website and i couldn't find an U23 team, they only go up to U21. I'm very curious as to who they'll bring.

I'm pretty sure their u21 team is in the middle of qualifying for the u21 Euros, so I wouldn't be surprise if that is who we faced.

Yep, we're in the middle of the close season. Pre-season training began only just this last week for most teams and the only English players due to play any competetive football for the next month are those involved with Team GB. Non of the England youth teams play again before September.

It seems that this is a behind closed doors friendly against the Great Britain Olympic side, not England. As a behind closed doors game it seems less likely to be televised

I thought they mentioned on the last game on Telefutra that all the pre olympic games were going to be on their network.

Pretty sure we're playing team GB, not England.

Amazing how every official news outlet keeps saying we're playing England's Olympic team when it's been known for quite a while that it won't be Team England but Team GB.

    Huge difference.

If that is the case, that's just sad that the people announcing it doesnt even know the difference.

So it's actually gonna be GB then? Cool.... wish we played Brazil or Uruguay instead of Japan in the last friendly.

Why don't we know more about this game?
It still isn't even showing in the tv listings.....

    http://www.facebook.com/SeleccionNacionaldeMexico

    Says it's England..

    Found this on another website

''El Tri will prepare for the tournament with friendly matches against Great Britain and Spain in Marbella and then Cadiz on July 15 and 18 respectively.''

    o_O

I'm pretty sure it is Great Britain the question now is it even gonna be televised?

So the GB team, which should be called the UK team since they allow NI, is being erroneously called the England team by the media. Mas pto...

England youth teams don't have any games scheduled until september, as a fellow english poster mentioned. It's team GB we're playing against.

My beef is with the Mexican media constantly regurgitating the notion that we're playing England's olympic team. There is no such thing as an England Olympic team.

Except the England U-19s who played today

But yeah, it's Team GB and I can't work out why it's behind closed doors and not televised. This team needs all the publicity it can get.

    Mexico will win BTW.
