I was alerted to this link by someone, is there anyway this is possible? http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=235833&cc=5901
US Soccer just released a press release today that mentioned the game has sold over 50,000 tickets and it still says its on Feb 6
Maybe they realized they shouldn't put it at the exact same time as UNC v. Duke basketball for the 2nd year in a row. ~A UNC student without cable and won't be able to find a place to watch both games at once within 100 miles of here.
Didn't USA/Mexico outdraw Duke/Carolina last year? I have class until 9 on Wednesday, so I'd be all for pushing it back to Thursday night, when I could watch it...
[jade1mls] UNC/Duke? US Mexico has 10 times the passion of that amateur game Did I mention I've always been a supporter for Gonzaga? [/jade1mls]
Doubt they will play a 2/7 match. That would effectively rule out any Euro player called in for either team for any Saturday matches, and the club teams won't go for that.
I once saw an ESPN boxscore for a Spurs/Mavs game and it listed Robert Horry as "DNP - too old". I think some intern over there is just having way too much fun.
Definitely weird, but their current TV listing says otherwise. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tv/listing?date=20080206&cc=5901
Didn't realize they were at the same time. Damn, that sucks. I guess I will watch Duke knock Carolina off live* then watch the US down Mexico** on my TIVO. Could be a fun evening afterall! * predicted score Duke 89-UNC 86 ** predicted score (what else) USA 2 - Mexico 0
not sure id use soccernet as a source for anything related to US Soccer, they're much more euro-focused.
Well this was released by US Soccer today: Along with their new gear, the U.S. Men have another new toy to play with in 2008. The team has been playing with the new Nike Omni ball, which will make its debut when the U.S. faces Mexico on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
I think they're just being douchebags and don't want the beautiful game to take off in the US. I bet that what's REALLY scheduled on the 7th in that time slot is girls' semi-pro four square, 11-year-old division.
are u guys really stupid. the soccernet. com shows the game starts at 2 am in the morning in england . so its feb7th there and 6th here 5 hours ahead of us aeast coast at 9 pm here on the 6th. people like this give our sport a bad rap
mexico game is 6th. soccernet.com is right the soccernet.com goes by the british time witch is 5 hours ahead of usa east coast. so game starts 9 pm eatern forego 2 am in england. are you that ignorant or had no idea soccernet always goes by british time
Good logic, makes sense, except it does state 'postponed.' I dont' think its correct myself and that the game will be played on Weds. night as scheduled.
Re: mexico game is 6th. soccernet.com is right Yes. Yes I am that stupid and ignorant and I am the one in this country giving the sport a bad rap.
