this is what has been going on.... we first looked at mexes last summer but bought chivu instead after auxerre said he wasn't for sale. then this summer, we try again. mexes is all for it but auxerre are being difficult. everyone thinks it's because we don't have the money but, look at that, roma are out of debt & willing to pay the price. while that is going on, manyoo offer twice the amount we offer and auxerre want to take the manyoo bid but mexes says no way. and now he's pissed and says sell me because i'm not showing up for training with you lot. auxerre claim the buy out clause in his contract is more complicated than that so mexes calls their bluff and says he'll take the contract dispute to fifa. finally, auxerre says they will negotiate a sale and chelski come out of nowhere and offer the same as manyoo but mexes still says no way, i'm only going to roma. the word on the street is that all the player's needs have been met and roma & mexes are in complete agreement and that auxerre have given in and there are just papers to sign..... *sigh* but you never really know in these long sagas (on my other roma forum the thread on the mexes deal is up to 32 pages) and nothing, of course, is final & official until we see him in roma (oh, and the roma gossip is that he has already been spotted there house shopping & getting help from some of the current roma players) being introduced to the press wearing the beloved shirt.
There is the story. Man this is soo complicated. But like strega said, nothing is official until we see him in a Giallorossi uniform. Remember last year when we THOUGHT we captured Lucio, and everything went nuts, and we ended up losing him. Same with Legrottaglie (Glad we didn't get him) then out of nowhere we steal Chivu right under those Nerazzurri noses
