.....Jaime Moreno plays in only 20 of the 30 regular season games. Anything less than 20 games, and the Metros get a 2nd or 3rd rounder, according to Steven Goff's article in today's Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28851-2004Apr20.html Not much more info was given in the article, but if there were no conditions such as that it can't be the OVERALL #1 pick or that he has to score a certain number of goals, then this is a steal. Note that Moreno does not have to START in 20 games, but simply has to play in 20 of them. He's already appeared in all 3 so it's a strong likelihood.
I've been saying the same thing for years. They make things up as they go along and do what they want with salary cap exceptions and everything else.
There you have it... Dallas will get a draft pick from DC United... the one that the metros owe dallas. Freddy who?
Yeah, like Moreno will even play 10 games this season before his annual career-ending injury. You better keep working on that #1 you owe the Burn.
Hmmm, are you sure about that? I thought we (United) did receive an Allocation for Etcheverry's retirement and that we gave it to Dallas. I know Dallas had a "you suck" allocation, but they acquired Simo Valakari and Corey Gibbs, and I thought both were allocations. As for the #1 for Moreno, well it seems a little silly to me, because you guys didn't want him, but this is MLS, so I guess we'll be giving you our First Rounder, unless Moreno gets injured. Speaking of drafts, I am hoping MLS signs Szetela and you guys get him. Having local talents like Gaven and Szetela is exactly what MLS should be doing. -Digital
Join the club, but Danny's mom came out and said that he will be going to Europe. The question is where? Arsenal? Tottenham? Everton? Manchester City? Manchester United? Inter Milan? Here is part of the article with quotes from his Mom
Nope. Valakari was a Discovery signing. DC has yet to receive and give the alloction they owe to Dallas.
