You don't really have to worry about that. Sure, the benefits will accrue mostly to Harrison. But then, Harrison's basically footing the bill. As a South Jersey resident, you're being asked to fork over, for a limited amount of time, half the sales tax revenue for an area that is earning next to none right now. Whether the project will pay itself off is Harrison's issue. They're the ones floating the bonds. And they basically seem to think they can do it.
As a side issue. . . http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0826/1422993.html The Nets and Devils may get their deal. Does anyone think this has any bearing on the Metro stadium deal? Seems to me the Medowlands people were some of the most dead set against this deal, one the count of the revenmue they stand to lose. But they might not care as much now, which would be a good thing.
Exactly. I'm fairly certain the concert was scheduled far in advance of anyone knowing about a potential Mutts playoff date.
Don't worry. They are just as likely to miss the playoffs as they are to have home field advantage anyway. Even 3 gimmie games against DC and NE won't give them home field advantage...
