Without looking it up on the internet, after Steve Jolley, Tim Howard and Clint Mathis, which present Metrostar has played the most regular season games for the team?
It's either Williams or Jeff Moore since they're the only other guys who have spent a full season with the team. Of the two I'd guess Williams since Moore didn't play every game in '02.
Williams by a nose. He has 23 regular season games, one more than Zaidie's 22. Moore is close begind with 18, then Lisi with 17, then Addo with 15. Everyone else is 6 or less. [statistics courtesy of www.metrofanatic.com]
Let me revise my question: Who has been a Metrostars the longest while tallying the least minutes played (but must have gotten at least 1 minute). So DJ wouldn't count..but Balboa would.
You can't answer this b/c it requires two superlatives -- longest tenure AND fewest minutes played. If you're trying to ask "fewest minutes per year on the team", I'd go with Mersim Beskovic, who somehow played in three games in '01 for a total of 11 minutes. So, even if those are his only games for which he got paid to be a Metro, you could only extrapolate that to 110 minutes a season. That blows Tab and his 1300+ minutes per year over seven years out of the water.
Answers: Section113 (1st): Who played the least on current roster: Besides Regan, Arena, Gloweinka, Gaven and Matteo: Wolyniec has only 29 minutes this season BUT added to 49 in 1999, still beats Jacob LeBlanc with 78-90 minutes played as playing the least on active roster. All-Time: Brian Piesner in 2002 was called up from Atlanta and played one minute. DJ Countess could also be included with Leo Krupnik, Jorge Acosta, Jim Manganello and a few others as being on the roster never seeing time. wezenaar's question: Besides Mathis, Tho and Jolley who is the longest tenure with the metros?: Paul Grafer (even after stints in 2000) he was signed before the rest of the roster in February of 2001. All-Time: Tab Ramos--7 seasons Been on the MetroStars the longest with least minutes: Paul Grafer again. 4 games played in with 271 minutes played. All-Time: Joe Munoz: early in 1998 was on the roster and only played in one game tallying 12 minutes. Beskovic was called up 4 times, playing in 3 games. Not a long stint.
