I read it in the NY Post this Saturday's edition. Sadly right now there is no link but here is what I read in the article by Brian Lewis

When they head to Florida Sunday for trainning, they'll be taking a handful of international trialists. The most accomplished may be 33-year old wing midfielder John Robinson, a longtime starter for Charlton of the Premier League. He had 31 Appearances last season, and 10 this season before retiring Nov. 4th in the wake of hamstring injuries. He's Reportedly fit and would fill a need on the wing.

Metros will also be joined by Under-21 Irish international forward Eamon Zayed and Hapoel Tel Aviv Central Midfielder Yossi Rosen. 25 years old who is capped for Israel, but here is the best part about Yossi. He already has a green card and he won't take up an S.I. slot.

Youri Djorkaeff French international is still in discussions with Metro.

Well that is the info from Brian Lewis article in the NY Post. Tried to find it on their website, but the bastards didn't have a link. So from the newspaper it's self.

For anyone who knows about John Robinson, Eamon Zayed or Yossi Rosen, could you please comment on their strengths and why they are/are not a good fit for current MetroStars team.

I feel our two biggest gaps are in defense (after surrendering the most goals last season and losing Eddie Pope) and forward (who will partner with Wolyniec up front?) but two of these players are midfielders. What's up with that?

John Robinson planned on retiring in December - but has said he would like to play in the USA. 10 years with Charlton and was Curbs first buy when he came to the club. Welsh International with a good cross (born in Zimbabwe.) Has played as both a left winger or wing-back.

Only issue - he gets carded ALOT!

What is the reaction with the fans regarding yossi rozens trialing? Are they excited? Dismayed? or just...plain...anti-semetic :D

He sounds all right... the only problem is central midfielders are the ONLY thing we don't need right now...

Me and Rommul can agree on something - what's this supposed to mean? I mean, if you're looking for someplace anti-semitic, you probably don't want to start in New York.

I know nothing's concrete on John's arrival, but boy this is all we can muster up from oversea's out of contract players ? Why would John be a better trailist this year when we passed up on a younger, healthier trialist in Dillon Sheppard last year. Dillon had the experience of international football playing for south africa and also with his club playing in the African Champions League.

Bob knows his youth talent but when it comes to forming a team, he's lost. Nothing would make me happier then having him make me eat my words but this year yet again our team is being stripped down.

The Metros have never had one thing that at least every club has had and I'm not talking about Trophies...it's chemistry. We need to be able to let our guys gel together and become a club not a revolving door for fading careers or jump starting them as a catalist for bigger teams.

Ya, it's the same petty bitchin' every year but come on, it's been nine years and the tenth one seems to be right on track with the other nine. The years of optimism have been drainned from me and many others , I myself will believe in the cause when we are playing on ABC at the end of the year for the cup.

    don't forget about Magee...

No clue about these players. But I do know one thing, I hate seeing players wasting their times talking to the refs. It's a total detriment to the team.

If Rosen becomes Metro. Dump the Fire jersey.

I agree... we really don't need more play makers. We need play starters (a defensive 'destroyer') and play finishers.

Please let there be more players than those mentioned above. At present it is very difficult to be excited about the coming season.

    Honest injun, Redknapp.

Have you ever seen Dillon Sheppard play? Or are you like the rest of us, reading internet biographies on these guys who come over on trial? The guy was with the team for a week last year, I believe. If he was so good (and affordable), I'm shocked he didn't make the team. If you're just basing this on the Ajax Capetown website, that's kind of silly, no? I mean, wasn't Doctor Khumalo a South African god? How about that guy Baby Face Sebapole? Wasn't Ivan McKinley getting callups for SA late in his MLS career?

I apologize if you've got a Dillon Sheppard video collection at home.
