Metros targeting Rte. 23 for Training Facility

Plans are in the works to build a sports complex on Route 23 south, near the intersection of Alexander Avenue, that also would include ice hockey rinks, indoor soccer fields, a fitness center, pro shop, and an all-glass sports bar overlooking two scenic ponds.

Landowner Mounir Badaan, a Totowa entrepreneur, will make a formal proposal before the Planning Board next month.

The 42-acre site would be home to the professional soccer team's Youth Development Academy, two practice fields, and home offices.

Pro soccer could score Lincoln Park venue Daily Record

So will it be off Route 23 or in Lincoln Park? Or are these one in the same? (I'm always lost in Jersey). Guess we've got a few irons in the fire when it comes to a practice facility.

Beneventine said that he has been in discussions with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars professional soccer team to allow the team to use the facility for training.

It's one and the same.
It doesn't really matter if it's Pequannock, Lincoln Park or Pompton Plains. The three towns are right next to each other, right off of 23, and a perfect area for a training/ ice skating/ wall-climbing facility. It's near major highways and there's not an over abundance of traffic.
