Well, this guy is a forward, so if he's fully recovered and can at least run faster than Wolyniec (which after watching the Columbus game, my father seems able to), I'd gladly say goodbye to Johnny...

I think this is a case of Bradley bringing in a guy who's already a known quantity for him (Fire practice, plus good information from the Princeton connection). Plus, we could use the depth at the moment if Moreno's back keeps him out for a few games - I like LeBlanc in the limited role he's played so far, but I'm not sure I want to see him up top like we did on Saturday.

Of course, I don't think anyone is holding their breath yet that Nugent will make the field before, say, Eddie Gaven...

My father thought Wolyniec was like 40 years old.

witout seeng the guy play, only reading the news i don't see how he is an impovement or an asset to our team, he is a waived player and fills in an open spot, i see it as getting a chance and nothing more

Everyone is complaining about our reserve forwards. I don't see how the coach bringing insomeone he already knows he likes without costing us cap space can be anything but potential upside. He's still pretty deep on the depth chart, but he's got a pretty decent resume for a cheap player.

    :) Funny

He made one big mistake when he broke free that time. He should have stepped inside more and get himself into the opponents lane of pursuit. He gave that player an opening angle to get to him.

After reading some of your assesments after watching people play, I see no difference if you have or have not seen any player in question.

If J.FORCHETTI shows strenght at Center Back, he might take the ADDO slot, and salary

If J.GALVAN shows as a good Attacking Mid, he might be assigned Right Midfield, causing Glowienka, Arena or Regan, who appear to have received roster spots, to be let loose

If the two Argentines are junior copies of the U23 Argentine national team that schooled us earlier this year, they would conceivably fill BRADLEYS current weak slots, and give us some very appropriate organizational balance and speed.

If the Argentine loan deal falls through, it's only a year, BRADLEY wanted two years, we'll have to wait untill BRADLEY gets a couple of youngsters up and running, the way he brought Jim Curtin, and Jesse Marsh along in Chicago, IMHO, masterful talent spotting and patient development of current Fire 'A' players.

Says he is roster exempt, does that mean that he does not count as 1 of the 24?

No, it means he does not count as 1 of the 18.

The roster has eighteen players, but teams may have a half dozen extra-roster players. That's what the Nuge is.

So I wonder which of our set of total idiots is going to call for Bradley's head when we get rid of Jeff Moore?

It's getting embarrassing, the way a small set of Metros fans on Big Soccer are saying the stupidest things. Really, the Metros board is quickly becoming one of the worst on Big Soccer. This guy "soccerfan" and three or four others seem largely to be responsible for the decline in quality. EricD's attempts to shame the worst offenders into writing less seem to be backfiring, so maybe it might be better to ask nicely: Soccerfan, please stop writing so much.

Yes, when are we going to get back to the good old days when you were lecturing us on pants/loafer combinations? Or the Metrocorazon Pat Walsh wars. Yes, that was very good. At least Soccerfan is talking substance, pal. You don't have to agree with him, but right or wrong, isn't a bit more interesting to hear more than one point of view.

This place is starting to remind me of the lame USA Men Boards, where no one can ever suggest that maybe it's not a good idea for Bruce Arena to call up Ritchie Williams, lest we offend the gods.

And by the way, is a Bruce Arena/Richie Williams Bob Bradley/Mike Nugent comparison apt? Discuss.
