Im not a metrostars fan really, just follow mls since detroit doesn't have a team yet, but i was wondering, would the young draft picks play on the reserve team to get experience, or do they just travel with the full team. Just wondering if your reserve team is anything like in europe. thanks.

There is a reserve team called "MetroStars Black" but it's a little different than a normal reserve team. The team plays in a local amatuer league and players from the team are not property of the MetroStars, the players still need to be drafted. The one player of note that played for MetroStars Black is Rodrigo Faria who was drafted by Metro. As far as the new young draft picks go, I don't think any of them will be playing with Metro Black, they will either be with the MetroStars fulltime or as is the case with Gaven, will be training with the U-17 national team.
