Whatever happened to the possibility of a radio show? From what I remember, MFO asked for suggestions for a weekly show but nothing came of it.
My Cousin in New Jersey, which is near New York, told me that the MetroStars have a weekly radio Spanish talk show in Radio Wado 1280AM. The name of the program is Solo Futbol. It airs daily for 1/2 hour and 2 hours Sunday night.
There is not a chance in hell that an English-language NYC station will host a Metros-related show. It's possible that Metro can buy time on a station and do it themselves, but since they can barely sell tickets to their own events, I doubt highly that their crack sales staff has the know-how to sell radio time as well. I can't imagine Metro would shell out the scratch needed to do a show without ad dollars coming in to offset the time-buy. I can only assume either they are so unmotivated or clueless that they wouldn't consider an internet show, which not only could they do cheaply and live, but could have it available on their website for listening on-demand. Have you heard some of the really bad soccer shows on the internet? Proof that any knucklehead with a Live365 account can make a show...
Also, I forgot about that wacky radio guy from Florida...the one who pitched here for the Metro radio job when MFO first mentioned the show. They must not have contacted him to get the job done correctly...
Was it not the worst season any pro soccer team in the world had that year? We did win that award from Bild...
