    (at the bottom):

"PEQUANNOCK: It was a mixed result for two GOP incumbents: victory for Councilman Ed Engelbart, but defeat for running mate Councilman Thomas Farrelly, who was bested by newcomer Joel Vanderhoff.

The incumbents said a proposal to build a practice facility for the MetroStars professional soccer team may have been the difference in the election. Some residents in District 2 had opposed the $75 million proposal, complaining that it would adversely affect their quality of life.

"I definitely think it was a reaction from that district," said Engelbart.

Vanderhoff cited his age, the MetroStars issue and his campaign promise to provide more athletic events for youngsters as reasons for the outcome. "

Does this affect anything re: the project in any way?
I guess not, if i'm reading the following article correctly...anyone have any extra info?

"Pequannock officials laid out the welcome mat yesterday for the MetroStars professional soccer team, which plans to move its practice facility and main office to the township.

Despite local opposition to the development, Mayor Paul Hollick, with several township council members at his side, praised the $75 million project.

"Pequannock is blessed to have this come to our community," Hollick said during the announcement at town hall. "

I like the (r). As if someone's going to say, "Damn, I was going to watch the replay of the Pequannock city council election on Fox Sports World tonight."

:D I thought it added a nice touch...Sometimes it's better for people not to know who their leaders are ;) Believe me, come November, whatever the outcome, people will be like : "What? This man will be prez for the next four years? Please tell me it ain't so! I wish didn't have to know" You heard it here first
