    Attendance: 23,786

Where will the attendance figures go from here?

    Depressing!

I hope everybody has Man U - Juve tix to keep you inspired.

75,000+ at a soccer game. Awesome!

Why is that depressing? That's a good number.

Well, it's 10,000 more than last year's opener, so don't get too depressed.

It's my hope that the core fan base for the Metros is slowly growing, resulting in a slight increase in the average attndance. If the Metros turn out to be significantly better than last year, maybe we'll see a significant increase in the average.

    13,000 at last years opener?

What was the average last year?

As long as they let me say:

    SHOW US YOUR CLINT

    I will keep coming back.

See everybody at the Colorado game.

With that boring affair, only season ticket holders will be back for the next game. The "casual" Metro fans you saw Saturday don't care about a rebuilding period.

My father was amazed that that was the attendence.
MetroFever, what do you mean by "casual" fans?
Does that mean that to be a "casual" fan, you do not buy season tickets?
What if you're like me? I'm 15 years old, I don't have a job yet, and I have no way to get to Giants Stadium unless a relative takes me because I live smack dab in the middle of NJ where I can't find a train or bus to get me to the stadium. Plus, I'm the only one in my family who's very into soccer.
There is no way that I can buy season tickets.
So, does that make me a "casual" fan?
    It better not.
Just because I can't make it to the game in person does not mean that I'm not going to be whooping and hollering in my basement, pissing off my eldest brother because I won't shut up when he wants peace and quiet.
I will be. I may even get into a big fight and hit by him for it.
Now, I don't know about you, but I screamed myself hoarse supporting the Metros every minute I could. I didn't find the game boring at all. I thought it was great. I could see how they were improving and I was thrilled for them.

So, what makes a "casual" fan?

Next game will draw a ton of Koreans to see Bo, El Savadorians to say goodbye to Cienfuegos, Hondurans to see Chacon and Gueverra and the Metro core. I'd say another crowd of 20k.

    What a post...

That was awesome... I really enjoyed listening to that, even though my dutch is very limited. It reminded me a little at the end of the old Simpson's soccer announcer reference.

    Anyway, That was great...

I am probably one of the few Metros fans in San Diego but I will surely be at the Home Depot Center for the Metros match in August.

If I make a trip home this summer, I will do my best to be there. I wouldn't call myself a casual fan, because I follow with all you real fans at bigsoccer.
