Two games decided by one goal each ... well done Metros. I'm guessing that this was great practice for the guys as well. Differing styles to test the team chemistry and a different location to bring the players together off the field. Nicely done. -Digital
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Herrera scored twice to lead Boca Juniors over the MetroStars 2-1 in an exhibition game Thursday. Rookie Mike Magee scored for the MetroStars, who open their MLS season April 12 against Columbus. Magee scored in the 24th minute, taking a pass from Richie Williams and dribbling around a defender. Herrera tied the game in the 39th minute off a cross from Pedro Mendez, then scored two minutes into the second half off a through pass from Robert Waltner http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=262297&cc=5901

Seems like Magee is adjusting really well to the pro game. Has anyone seen him play with the Metros in person?
What's really amazing is that no one in the league has any idea what direction this team will go. Sure we have the big quartet in Mathis, Jaime, Pope, and Tim. Other then Tim, the other three are relatively big question marks for their club teams. I have no doubt that Mathis will be ready. If he has the fire, he is the best player in the league. Jaime and Pope???? I don't know. Pope always comes to play for the nats, but barely ever did for DC. Jaime just never played. Not only that, but our team isn't even firm yet. This in many ways could be better. The team may rally together, and create a stronger atmosphere. All I know is that I'm pretty excited for whatever comes.
