So, it's L.A., the largest city in the state that's shown all of those girly-man voters back east how to grab democracy by the balls.

Surely, the previous guy wasn't THIS bad?

But we jest. There's a lot we like about LA.

    The women.
    The beach.
    The sunshine.
    The clean air.

    Wait, scratch that last one.

Way to give Mexico City a run for it's "floating blanket of dirt" money. One or two more cars should just about do it- you'll have the world's first permanent eclipse.

Anyway, the LA Dolls roll in the swamp- again sans Donovan- to take on the Metrostars. LA are winless in their last five, while Metro are searching for their first win since knocking off the Crew on June 18th.

Can LA return to their winning ways?
Can Metro put their recent defensive problems behind them?
With Donovan playing for the Nats, can LA score without it's pu$$y? (ahem)

All questions to be answered Saturday night under the lights at the state fair clogged Meadowlands.

Metro expect to see Ibrahim and Ward returning to the bench, though Youri looks to be still a week away. Wells will get the start in goal with Meola on the mend, while Guevara returns from injury. Lisi will likely not play, meaning no left footed midfielder again. Suarez is ready to play but is not expected to displace a starter just yet.

We could see a lineup like the following:

    Razov-- SGR
    Gaven- Guevara - Magee
    ---Bradley---
    Ward--Agoos--Mendes--Leitch
    ---Wells---

    MLSNet Preview

    Yahoo Preview

Barrett perhaps not coming to Metro

Meola out to prove he's a keeper - Colin Stephenson

    Game Notes:

    - Parking is only $ 3
    - Fans will gather in lot 8 to watch the USA gold cup game vs. Canada at 4:30pm
    - Steve Sampson, 3-6-1, is still a genius.

    Getting back to the artwork:

While the players celebrated, team jocksniffer Eddie Graham looked on. Soon, it would be his time.

And finally, your Kevin Hartmann moment of Zen.

"Did Liza Minelli ever have legs like this? I think not."

Also, while we're here, anyone else remember LA Galaxy coach Steve Sampson from Teenwolf?

    He was awesome.

Off topic, I gotta say- of all of the Governors in the US, California's has the largest breasts.

This is a good game to pick up 3 points. The Galaxy are depleted and we can hopefully get Ward or Ibrahim back. This game can hopefully get us back on the winning track.

we'd better win (and very minor quibble - Guevara was serving ayellow card suspension, not back from injury.)

We'd better ********ing beat these goddamned mother********ing bastard piece of shits

and may Abbey Okulaja get a frickin heart attack before he takes the field.

The Metro Soccer Report said that Youri was healthy... is he going to be playing?

What are your predictions for the game?

I think it'll be 2-1 MetroStars... Although the MetroStars have more player options, it'll probably take one or two games to get them back to a winning line-up, but with LA's team missing its star players, they'll still manage to get out with 3 points.

We better. LA is horrible on the road (only road win in the last year: at Chivas USA). They're missing players to the Gold Cup, we're not. No excuses.

Had he dove, he might have gotten a hand on it, by diving out, not across the goal line. Either way, he cannot just stand there. He has got to get aggressive.

Also, great try by SGR, he deserves a goal this game.

We cannot hunker down here and wait for the final whistle. We need at least 1 more goal.

 That was crazy. Who the hell heads back a ball that far towards the goalie when there are players behind you! Who was that?
