This team seems to becoming more and more of a non-USA team. How many players play for a non-USA nat team? I have no complaints. I just want to win!

    This is worth repeating.

Anyway, I think this is good news, though, I think we need a solid central defender more than a left sided defender cum midfielder, if that is what he is.

After DiGi gets cut (apparently), it appears that the Metros now have the least number of American born players in MLS on their full roster.

Obviously, you want the best team out there, but it does kinda remind me of the Cosmos days where you had a few token American players on the roster.

I hear where you're coming from, but there's nothing token about Pope, Walker, and Gaven. The T-I rule is a huge loophole, and we're driving a huge truck full of salary-cap room through it.

We are signing young CONCACAF players and not has been Europeans. As others have said we have some USA talent too.

    Magee, Woly...etc.

Digi wasn't going to get time unless it was an emergency, so hopefully this guy will turn out to be more competitive for a roster spot, and if it means we can put Leitch on the correct (Right) side, that's good for him too.

BTW, I think it's time that we fish or cut bait on Ziadie. Either this guy is a starting defender, or we need to start looking elsewhere. I wonder if this move is the beginning of us starting to look elsewhere.

Are the Metros showing Chivas USA how to bend the rules to fill your roster with non-US players?

we're just taking up all the TI spots so Chivas has to use real americans :)

Jamison brings up a point i strongly agree with...while Bremes will be leaving sooner than not for the Olympics, and Pope may miss time for Q matches, it still looks as if we have depth on Defense...Pope, Parke, Bonseu, Leitch, Stammler, Bremes, and now Regan make 7 players that it seems Bob will feel comfortable putting into the lineup...Ziadie has got to have some trade value as there are teams that have nearly zero depth at the moment on Defense (i.e. LA, SJ, NE)...it's probably also time we settle on the players we have, as it's important to develop this chemistry we all keep talking about, but so bringing in draft pick(s) for Ziadie would really be in our best interest, since we owe a couple anyways, and it wouldn't hurt to start having some for ourselves again...as a nice bonus, it isn't a stretch to think some MLS team might give DiGi a shot, so we'll likely get a draft pick as compensation if he is signed due to MLS' wacky rules...gotta love what the Bob is cookin =)

I for one am happy to see Bradley and management do whatever it takes to improve the team. It is within the rules set by MLS, i see nothing wrong with having half the team foreign. Keep in mind that not every team can do this at the same time as there is a limit set per league, only difference is we have cap room the others don't. Rest assured this will not be a trend year after year, so just enjoy while it lasts and hope to have our best year ever.

Having 7 players that we call defenders doesn't give us "depth". Haveing quality defenders does. I think things are looking up this season, and Bradley is piecing a good team together. But I think our lack of quality in defense will hurt our chances of winning the Cup this year. I still think we're a player or two away.

I don't think defence is our problem
Second half vs Chicago our midfield was none existant, we need someone to hold and distribute and feed the forwards

I was going to complain until I read in the MLS rules that yes Ny gets first crack at all TI's and the ones NY doesn't want La gets.

    NY+La=Salary cap? What's that?

A sub par half doesn't mean we have a bad midfield. It think you'd be hard pressed to name me a better midfield combination in MLS than Guevara, Vaca, Gaven and Clark/Lisi. The players are clearly of a higher caliver overall than Leitch/Pope/Bonseu/Ziadie.

metrogo, they arent simply players called defenders, they are players our coach is or will be comfortable putting in the lineup...otherwise, i would've named arena or flores, to name 2...i also left ziadie...whether or not you like them as players, it is depth because they'll be regulars, and moreover, there is a lack of quality defenders league wide, so it's relative...i don't know what your problem is, but i don't disagree that defense is our weakness, especially on the wings...on the other hand, at least half the teams in this league would like to have the 7 players i named as their defenders...we are making serious strides from last season, and that includes our defense as far as i'm concerned..

I think you have to hand it to Bradley for putting together a very good roster using the rules available to him. If the other teams aren't going to use the TI rule to their advange then that's their fault.

At the same time, this is the blueprint for Chivas to stock as many Mexicans on their expansion team as they can.
