Turkeys, dogs, and dead people... Someone is pulling some legs around here. It's not the 1st of April, but there is NO way an adult looked at that stuff and said, "GREAT! THAT's the look we want....THAT's the image..." St. Phil's gotta be looking at that and thinking, "What the hell am I building SSSs for?!?"
How funny is it that in the one hour since we pointed out the utterly inane aspect of using Marily Monroe to promote MPF, they are feverishly working to revise the page. Can you imagine the dynamic at the MFO this morning that resulted in this? Yeah, they don't spend any time on the boards ;-) It's nice to see that MPF is still "in affect".
How does a caption with 3 dead people on it help promote the game? With this logic, why not use Jimmy Hoffa since he's already buried at Giants Stadium? If I was Humphrey Bogart's son, I'd be suing for defamation of character.

Anyone else notice that the bottom picture has the names of some New Jersey Devils listed? There's only one guy in the picture, and I don't think he's a pro hockey player. Did someone in MFO even proof read these?

I actually had to get up and leave my desk I was laughing so hard. My fave is the look on the one guys face when the other guy is getting his head signed by Magee. Michael Rupp has an "I can't believe I'm wearing this" look Da Bruce looks stoned (but good job by him anyway) Woly and Lisi MUST be hammered (nice professional redeye BTW) The Three Dead People make a little more sense if it is in the context of like ten other pictures. This whole thread is both funny and sad, in about equal measure....I wish that instead of exchanging players with DC, we could trade the geniouses who came out with this campaign...
Metro should obviously fire their marketing staff and just run a Fark.com photoshop contest next time they need a graphic or two for the website. They'd be getting the same quality of work, and for free!
Nice to see, as an added bonus, that the New England, DC and Chicago boards are all rolling with laughter at the expense of Metro. Nothing like supporting a team that is also the punchline to the funniest jokes elsewhere in the league. But we're used to that by now. On a serious note, I heard that most of the folks in Metro Marketing have loads of experience and that many of them used to work in the gaming industry in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. You might find it hard to believe in light of the current discussion re: Metro Marketing, but many of those same folks came up with this classic while working on the Taj Mahal campaign: D ogs P laying P oker DPP - CATCH IT!!!!!
