Because they alert me, I alert you. In addition to the Cherry Blossom madness the Wizards are home tonight at Verizon Ctr (7pm) and the Nationals have a spring thing (6pm). You almost certainly want to add extra travel time.
Nationals first pitch is at 6:05 tonight. They will be running buses from RFK before and after their game. I don't think the baseball crowd will be that huge - in fact all three games could be around 15k.
i'm coming from the frederick, md area. leaving at about 5:20 or so. anyone have advice as to whether i should consider metro or just driving to rfk? i only get to make it to 2-3 games a year so i haven't perfected my commute. especially in this projected traffic.
If you go 270/495/GW Parkway to 395/SE Freeway - I think it will still be faster than stopping and getting on Metro. Even with a little congestion for the Nats and United. But that's just one opinion...
I'll correct my post above about the baseball. There's also an late afternoon/early evening parade on Pennsylvania Avenue. The general thrust of the OP still stands, travel may be hectic.
Nothing is changing with DC United's parking situation with baseball, but I don't see any information on parking for DC Armor. Do they have any special arrangements? It may be worth noting parking at RFK is $15 this season...
The Cherry Blossom Parade starts at 10am and runs till about noon. But there will be a sh*t load of tourists and locals around dowtown all day. One of the biggest tourist weekends of the year.
Having lived in Frederick and now living in Columbia, I would drive before I took that metro, that is a long ride on the red line. I would take 270 to 495 to 295, but there are some other routes possible as well.
thanks for the advice, as well as the other poster above. looks like i'm gonna get a head start on my drive, so i'm thinking i should get there in plenty of time. can't wait!
