thats the problem with this team now, everybody has to hope that the defense will play good, the midfield will be able to hold the ball and the forwards will be able to create and finish chances. It's never a sure thing, at least in the begining of the season we knew that the defense would be pretty solid.
Metro-DC and US-NK are on at the same time. Which to watch? No contest. Besides, I think NK would have to beat the US 7-0 to knock them out of the QF round. This is a crucial match for Metro -- as if Thurs. night wasn't! -- for both teams, really, but nobody here gives a rat's rectum for the Dizzies. All concerned know that these 3 points are for second place -- and we don't play next weekend and they do. (Am I wrong in this?) Not to mention the OC semi this Wed. Both teams want these two games, I just hope we want them more. I don't know what accounted for the lame, flat play on Thurs. but we are too capable of falling into holes like that. Anon, the match draws nigh. MSG is calling. Adieu.
much better, i felt we needed some consistency from our wings and we're getting it...also, gaven has been working very well in the middle of the field causing DC some problems...in other good news, richie williams got a yellow and is out for the next game...other than that, there's been about 5 yellows, and a whistle every other minute so hopefully get the game in, in time to make it back to Rutgers
i agree, but you know what, in a game like this (or really any game), it would be far worse if a ref lost control of the game...i also think they're a far dirtier team than we are, and i'd prefer it if he got to dema and the likes before they get out of hand...on our side, richie is the only true hack, and he's harmless at his worst...nonetheless, i couldnt be more thrilled for him to get that yellow, i think bob's on the right track with these moves he's been making...addo spoke at halftime, seems bob the master motivator is alive and well, and even participated in pre-game warmups with them...the old "if i could suit up and play i would," angle but it seems to be working...we fought hard, no goals, but it's a big improvement...up bob, UP METRO
I don't know if anyone else is chatting in an AIM chat room, but i'll be in "Metro vs DC" if anyone wants to join me.
Games like this are going to be the ones in which Rico Clark grows up a bit and gets something of a hard edge in his game - which is exactly what he needs if he's going to develop into the international-class defensive midfielder we expect him to be.
At least make that snot nosed son of a bitch a vegetable. We haven't seriously challenged their goalie once this game, have we? Clint's freekick was much tamer than the TV guys made it out to be.
