Metro should buy time on YES or see if they can pull off a deal to show classic Metro games during the offseason just like the Yankees do. I think it will very well viewed cause all of us MetroFans have 6 months of waiting to do. Now I know that the Yankees have played a few more games than Metro, so how about making this a once a month event? That's only 6 games they have to show, plus keep some sort of interest in the team(better than nothing). I think Metros can come up with more than 6 great games to show such as Mathis' 5 goals, "The comeback", Valencia's late winner, first playoff win, etc...
I can't think of a network with less content than YES that would do this (maybe MSG)...I'd love to see the playoff victory against Chicago in 2000...
I would love to re-live that great momemt in the rain on astro-turf when Peter Vermes' shoot out goal won the first playoff game in MLS history.
how about ... (in no order, yes I know some are repeats) 1.) Mathis 5 goal. 2.) THE Mathis goal vs Dallas. 3.) THE Comeback at SCUM, Petke winner from incredible Matthaus pass from free kick, 2000. 4.) THE Comeback II vs SCUM, three goals in like 10 minutes, 2001. 5.) Comeback with Villegas winner vs Tampa, 2000. 6.) Valencia playoff winner.
Another classic was Chicago-Metro Game 3 in 2000, but I don't know if a loss counts. Heartbreaking game, but it has to be one of the best games in MLS history.
what, you don't want to watch the dan marino centerstage again? what about the joe dimaggio yankeeography? i can watch those things every day. thrilling.
The best game by far was the three goal comeback against tampa when they had valderama and we had zach in goal. savarese had three goals in the las ten minutes, the last was a bike. then we won in a shoot out when zach stopped carlos.
gio didn't have 3 goals in that game against tampa bay in 96, one was an own goal. still a good comeback though.
Not sure if it was ever taped but the Dallas Open Cup match in the city was a classic. We might of lost but it was damn good game...Donadoni and Damian put on a hell of a show down.
