It won't. Charlie will have that be a stand alone game there. $$Money$$ In the mailing, it said a 1pm start. puts a damper on my tailgating. But I figure we can watch Timmy, drink in the parking lot afterwards, go to a bar, and catch metro-chi at 830
Re: Re: metro announce Man u date @ giant stadium better yet lets do a Chi-town road trip ,it would be way awsome .
Apparently, Stillitano was not at last summer's 12:00 game vs KC. 90 degrees, 100% humidity, a scalding sun and no wind? Sure makes for a great soccer game doesn't it? Remember, last year one of the Wizards players suffered from heat stroke (or was it heat exhaustion?) I think common sense will prevail and the match will be moved to 8:00 p.m. (assuming the time was not a typo).
Um, what time is it in Europe when it's 1 PM on the East Coast? And what time is it when it's 8 PM on the East Coast? Mistake my ***. This is about TV distribution world-wide... the "health" of the players is of secondary concern. My $0.02 on the subject: Game will be on at 1 PM, but because it's an exhibition, the heat (and the absence of real stakes) will reduce the match to a crawl -- that's not worth my hard-earned dollars.
how do you contact them , we should flood them with calls and e-mail to change that, its only 5 hours difference so a 5,6 or pm start time would be much better
On that KC game in August, it was a noon start and the air temperature was higher than 90, more like 98 or so. There was a heat index of 104 in the sunshine, and reports had the field temperature over 120 (one report was 134, though that seems too high). Yeah, that was the wackest soccer game ever. I was wondering if we were playing the game at GS because the stadium on the surface of the sun was booked. When you can smell the plastic field melting- no joke, there was a smell of plastic from the field (and no, not from the swamp)- you know it's too hot to be playing. It was so hot Richie Williams visibly shrunk 3 inches. On having the game at 1pm here, as England does follow daylight savings that would make it 6pm there. Seems like 3pm here would make more sense, but the temp would likely be about the same anyway. One thing, I've seen all sorts of notes about the game, but not one about who they are playing. I understand ManU is a brand and all, but if they are playing Benfica reserves it kind of devalues the ticket, you know?
Dont know if you've seen this Jamison...so I'll post it. From the Metro letter : "The opponent is not yet finalized, but will be announced no later than March 20 2004(during the MetroStars private window sale)" So yea, in case you cared. I hope they keep the game at 1. Sadly, I'll pay the money even though they are going to be half-assing it with the heat. However, if they played it during the same time slot as the Metro game, Charlie would lose out, and Nathan Hales would win.
Lessee now... I can spend the bucks to watch ManU and another 'high profile' brand walk around and lose weight in the Swamp oven --- or I can stay home and watch a popsicle melt for free, less the cost of the popsicle. Sorry, Charlie, you lose. I know I won't pay your prices just to see ManU sweat. I can see them do that right now on tv, even though its still chilly in Europe. It's been that kind of a season. Who knows if Timmy will still be in goal come summer time?
I took the day off last August to attend the KC game. I don't think I'll do that again soon. 7:30 pm would be perfect.
