The situation with another of [agent Kim] Zayotti’s WEEI clients is a bit more positive. “Jon Meterparel did not have a contract with WEEI,” she says of the "Dennis and Callahan Morning Show" sports flasher.

“A new deal is close to being done. He will remain on the morning show and continue to do New England Revolution play-by-play...”

Give'em a break. At least he mentions the games every monday morning during the season and he gets heckled for it. And he still sticks up for the game (somewhat).

It's great that he talks up soccer but when you consider the source and the ridicule that he invites just by being him I'm not sure it is that much of a plus.

    the guy is a twit.

When a guy uses an expression like "where's the flag?!" whlen he really means to say that there was a border-line non-call that might/could have been a PK, he needs to be smacked upside the head.

It would be as if someone doing a Red Sox game refered to the guy hitting as the "batsman," which everyone knows what he means, but it's a term from another sport, cricket.

If you want to become good at your job, you have to learn as much as you can. I wonder if he even watches soccer games on TV just to get a sense for how other PBP guys describe things. The guy is a tool, and with "friends" like this, does the sport need enemies?

I once heard Meterparel (an anagram for Peel Me Rat) whining on the D&C show that, when he travels with the Harvard basketball team, none of the players talk to him. No wonder. I doubt they could get down to Meter's elementary school level.

    Has anyone called WEEI?

I thought about calling EEI (the Big Show) to see if I could sneak in a Revolution comment the other day, but I don't ever remember hearing a caller talk about the Revs.

I wonder, has anyone tried to talk about the Revs with them? I'm sure they don't know much, if anything, but maybe I'll give it a try one of these days.

I actually feel sorry for Meter

He isn't that talented and gets ripped by Dennis and Callahan daily

As for Jack - I watched " Our Way " again the other night - damn are his goal calls AWFUL
