    Seems to brake a record in every single game nowadays. Last year/season he broke about 100 football records, about 15 of them being major ones. Here is few of them

    Last week he tied Di Stefano as El Clasico top scorer (already El Clasico top assister).

    Now according to this: http://www.rsssf.com/players/scoringstreaks.html

    , he became first person to score in 17 consecutive league games (27 goals), beating the previous record of Teodor Peterek from Ruch Chorzów, who scored in 16 consecutive league games (22 goals) in Polish league in 1937-38.

    Agreed.

    I had no idea someone could manufacture another Messi thread... :ninja:

    Still, you learn something new every day.

    The last thread titled regarding Messi may have been half a year ago but almost every other thread in this, and the sub-forums seems to have heavy Messi involvement.

    Ballon D'Or, Greatest dribbler, etc...

    Or maybe I'm missing something.

    Yeah, you are missing that he actually is Ballon d'Or winner and one of all-time dribblers, and a record breaker. Terribly awful to see him in these discussions you think?

    I have no issue with Messi. Infact, I praised him highly in the Ballon D'Or thread at one point. But I'm fairly certain his record breaking has been brought up in other threads at various times.

    I feel like the only thing I don't know about him is whether he scrunches or folds...

    We should call Messi a new nick " Record Breaker",
    or "Small Messi but Big records"

    ^ Will probably pass Raul before the age 27, which usually is before players hit their prime on average. Puts the silliness into a perspective really.

    We should go for GPG as better number than just the number of goals!
    If we take at least 40games as minimum requirement (3 seasons)
    1- Muller 0.98
    2- Puskas 0.90
    3- Di Stefano 0.84
    4- Messi 0.76
    5- Nistelrooy 0.68

    However Messi and Nistelrooy played more games (as disadvantage a bit)

    Yes. And just out of curiosity:
    Messi 08/09 - 12/13 = 50goals/55games . 0.91

    That's like saying 3 goals in 2 games is better than 58 in 76, GPG is such a plain mans statistic. At the beginning of European Cup when Puskas and Di Stefano played, it was a lot easier competition than nowadays, a lot. And the same actually applies throughout the European Cup era, until they started to include more than just a champion of top leagues.

    Btw, Müller only played 35 games in European Cup.

    Read well, I had stated with MINIMUM 40games played = at least 3 seasons as condition!

    I thought I counted Muller 39goals'/40games

    Yes, and Müller player only 35 games in European Cup http://www.rsssf.com/players/gmueller-in-ec.html

    Furthermore when you analyze his matches you see how different the competition was back then. Spain 13, Italy 12, England 12, Germany 6, Holland 6, and Portugal 4 have been the only multiple winners in European Cup/ Champions League, so I think it's fair to say most quality has come from these countries.

    Now out of 35 games Müller played only 9 times against a team from these countries, Messi has played already against these 43 times. And when Müller was pretty much in his prime 26-31, and a striker, Messi started Champions League already at the age 17 as a winger.

    From the last 35 games, Messi has 37 goals.

    these data do not MEAN ANYTHING I HAVE EXPLAINED IN THE POST OF RONALDO HOW TO CALCULATE THE AVERAGE BETWEEN DIFFERENT AGES.

    makes 40 goals in a league where the average score is 3 not equal to make 40 goals in a league where the average score is 2, ok??
    Muller, Puskas, Di Stefano were super overrated, Messi is why better.

    if you want to know what is the average score of a player in a league where you mark a certain number of goals per game, you must make a simple proportion in relation to a common unit (a hypothetical league where you make a goals per game).

    The average score of Muller in the championships in which he played is 0.80.

    0.80:3.29=x:1

    (0.8*1)/3.29=0.24

    X=0.24

    This is the real value of the goals of Muller in semi-professional leagues

    In the Leagues in which he played, without consider the second division.

    Puskas

    The total average goals in all leagues where he played Puskas was 3.88
    The average goals of Puskas is 0,97

    0.97:3.88=x:1

    x=0.25

    Messi

    In Leagues in which he played Messi the total average score was is 2,64
    The average score of Messi in the Leagues in which he played is 0,86

    0.86:2.64=x:1

    x=0,32

    I also calculated Di Stefano during the years of LIga

    The average score in those years in La Liga was 3,2

    the gpg of di Stefano is 0,69

    x=0,21
    This is the true value of the goals of Di Stefano in Liga(non professional League)

    The 19games scoring streak (in LIGA) was a tie record between Ronaldo 97, CR7 12 and now Messi 13
    If Messi will go on scoring in next week game, he will set a new record (20) on his name

    You have got wrong information from somewhere. Ronaldo's record was scoring 10 consecutive games, which Messi equalled last season, he never scored against every opponent. On the other hand Cronaldo's record isn't consecutive but he scored against every opponent last season.

    Youre right ...

    19 was most number of opponents that they scored against (Ronaldo97, CR712 and now Messi13) - But I guess he just did break it like 20/21 last weekend.

    and Messi scored in 19 consecutive match (liga) now 2013 -(Messi did break Ronaldo 11 games in 2012)
