This past season DC united sold roughly 7600 season tickets. I would guess that MAYBE 200 people post here on a regular basis or "Live" here as you say. Steve Zack sending out mass emails to his fanbase and having fans sign up for news alerts thru the DC website makes more business sense than coming solely on BigSoccer. Can and should he use BigSoccer? Of course, but it's not the know all end all of our soccer existance. Plus you can always email him or KP. I have and have always gotten a response.
We're setting up an echo chamber here. I stated in my post that I'm actually one of those on this site that admonishes people to NOT take this site as the end-all/be-all. These are not mutually exclusive issues. They used to do both. I, for one, really appreciated the input from SZ. I think one of the problems is/was that he needs to stay out of a lot of the bitching and moaning about Security and just help facilitate the bulk of that offline. Quite frankly, I don't really have a bunch of unanswered questions this minute. It's more about that long-term relationship building with the core fans. Well, you say "of course" but my point is they stopped. Why not use all of the communications tools available? The SE list was one vehicle. This board is another. Mass emails are, quite frankly, pretty much just a marketing push and don't really lend themselves to any kind of realistic give-and-take. Look, it's no big deal. And I'm not really arguing with anyone here, just throwing out some idea. I'm pretty agnostic on the whole deal, but this issue hits close to home (my profession, that is). If I was a product marketer and I saw that there was a hotbed of discussion and online activity around said product/business, I'd want to be more proactive about interacting. But it's not that big of a deal, and wouldn't be if I was doing marcomm for the team. Just something to ponder.

don't forget that ticket prices are based in part on the cost of using RFK, something that goes up for games outside the normal package.
personally I don't think the hikes have been too bad yet. I am a little irritated that they are doing it this year though not yet knowing what impact BB will have on the place. If they stay at the same trend they have for the last 7 years, it should be another 5-7 before they start getting to the price i'm going to have to question if it's worthwhile. Hopefully by then we will be winning every trophy, bringing the top Euro teams for friendlies, and most importantly i'll have gotten some fat pay raises that it still wouldn't be too much (damn it's a good time to be a loyal, if periodically disgruntled, fan) -dave

I know everyone loves to save a buck or two here and there but DCU remains one of the more affordable tickets here in this town. How long gave we waited to see this team return to fighting for silverware? Been awhile. I don't mind paying a couple bucks over regular season ticket prices. For the record, my season tickets for Maryland football are as follows: NE Illinois and Temple: $ 25.00 each Ga. Tech, NC State and Wake Forest: $ 35.00 Florida State: $ 43.00 I feel lucky I get another shot to see United Saturday as I missed the past game. I hope my voice comes back from Saturday's Terps game so I can lose it at United's victory this Saturday
I don't know what's worse. The fact that I couldn't come to the Conf. Semi, the fact that I can't come to the Final, or the fact that neither of these is available to me on my craptastic Comcast Digital Cable service. I couldn't even watch the stream on MLSNet.com because the damn thing wasn't working. Pain. There have been some absolutely delightful performances by the supporters over the last month and I really wish I could have been in my regular spot for all of them. Keep up the good work folks.
Ok, I just re-registered so I could post directly. I probably should have done so awhile ago but whenever I needed to get something out, there were a number of you that I could talk to directly. I just wanted to say, as others have already mentioned, that I am always available to answer questions related to the business of D.C. United. I learned my lesson a few years back not to get involved with team side discussions and that won't change. I simply did not have as much time recently to "lurk" (I love that expression)on the boards as I did in the past. I knew that there were certain members who would contact me if there was an issue that needed to be addressed (usually one involving CSC). As I am now back on line, if there are questions I can answer please go ahead and ask (I'm leaving the office shortly so likely won't reply till tomorrow though).
