2BL Darmstadt are interested in him. https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...iss-auf-ex-hoffenheim-star-63364254.bild.html
I'd imagine he fancies himself with a 1st division team there. If he can stay fit (big if) I would think he could go 2-3 seasons in the Bundesliga. Only recently 30. But then again...if he isn't getting other offers...
Kamara deal being finalized ahead of Wed transfer deadline. DCU working on at least 2 other possible moves, unclear if they'll happen. List of candidates includes Yamil Asad (free agent), Jose Torres (free), Mateo Garcia (transfer), Danny Williams (free). Also in MLS trade talks.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 6, 2019
Danny mentioned (and pictured) here as a possibility for premier league sides to scoop up amongst a list of other free agents. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...e-agents-your-club-could-sign-before-deadline
Signs with Pafos FC of the Cypriot First Division. https://www.instagram.com/p/B2E6YbhHhe7/?igshid=1jw3wr4le711q They were founded in 2014 and finished 8th in the league last season. Their next match is on September 14, away to Apollon Limassol. Notable teammates include: former RSL midfielder Sunny, Haitian defender Kevin Lafrance, former NYCFC dud striker Adam Nemec (who led the Cypriot league in goals last season), and Crystal Palace cast-offs Bakary Sako and Jason Puncheon.
Weird. The last two were just signed this year and Puncheon is a former teammate of DWill's. Looks like the club also tried to sign Joe Ledley, though I cannot confirm that actually panned out. Maybe that's why their grabbing Danny now.
Was in Cyprus some time back. It's the Florida of Europe, especially the UK. Lots and lots of overly tanned white haired British retirees. Caters to a lot of vices (drugs, sex, etc), people stash a lot of money though there as well, but it also has a rich and interesting history and very warm, friendly people. Glad he landed somewhere. If he's making decent coin, Cyprus would be a great spot
One of my college fraternity brothers comes from Limassol and his family has a lot of money (the Four Seasons Hotel & an aluminum company). He took back a tall, blonde American girl, but didn't produce any dual citizen soccer players. Hope to get there someday.
I don't remember players being cheated and not getting paid in Cyprus ... Turkey, Greece, Israel and to a lesser extend Russia and smaller teams in Italy and Spain on the other hand ... I need say no more ... If you want to to be 100% sure to get paid on time and even be sure to get paid if the club itself go bankrupt, Scandinavia is the place to go.. here employees are sure to get paid for the work they have done by law, no matter what happens to their workplace. There is a law and forced insurance preventing employees from getting cheated .. I know that Vikings are probably mainly known for their raids and pillaging, but in reality it was the Danish Vikings who introduced the word 'law' itself and the concept of a jury to the English when they invaded and settled half of England (the Danelaw). So law and justice for employees and the average 'Joe' is highly important around here. On the other hand, you get highly taxed if you belong to the highly paid and the rich elite. It's all due to the 'Jante law', which in short is about all people being entitled to equal respect, opportunities and rights (not least regarding a higher education), no matter their social status and who they are. Btw... Huddersfield, to little surprise, also seem to be heading straight for relegation in the Championship : https://www.transfermarkt.com/huddersfield-town/transfers/verein/1110
He will be. Cyprus is a small country, but wealthy and the population is Greek, which equals football mad. There's a very large offshore banking sector (i.e. money laundering) and a lot of money flowing through it, especially Russian. There's no shortage of money and with a British-style legal system, the player's cheques have a history of NOT bouncing. He won't be getting EPL money, but a guy with his profile and options would be paid about Championship/upper League One level. The lifestyle there is great and the level is reasonable but it's not as physical as England or even Germany. On top of that, with only 12 teams (cut from 14 two seasons ago), the season is fairly short at 32 games (22 regular season and 10 in the Championship or Relegation rounds) which may be a factor for a guy who's had injury issues.
I've been to Limassol twice and Larnica once. I love that country. He will have a great time, I know I did.
