Emotional scenes as Busi and Alba go out MLS champs. End of an era with their retirements. and Messi delivers an MLS Cup to Miami with 3 assists (or 2 assists and 1 hockey assist)
De Paul MotM imo , great signing for Miami , Happy for Alba and Busquets to end their careers with a title
Mo Salah says POOl have thrown him under the bus and scapegoated him. Says he wants out after AFCON. Loan option for Barca?
And I as well. It is delicious schadenfreude watching an EPL club extend geezing geezers to obese contracts, Bartomeu-style, only for it to blow up in their face, Bartomeu-style. Likewise, its delicious schadenfreude watching an EPL club make stupid, expensive choices in the transfer market, their stupid supporters and Brit media glaze them, only for it all to blow up in their faces as well.
Madrid down a goal and now down a man. They've tied or win games like this before. So it's not over. Celta really messed up some good counters in the 1st half. Could have scored earlier.
Another Madrid red card and Celta scores. Leaving Courtois flat on his butt. Taxi for Xabi Alonso ???
Those Galacticos sure are something to behold, especially playing at the Santiago Toilet Bowl. I need a meme of Courtois flatt on his butt. They were humiliated on both goals IMO. Lovely stuff. Now let's hope we can take full advantage of this mini crisis RM have going on.
They already had no less than 5 defenders injured entering this match. Now Militao is subbed early due to an injury, and 2 other defenders get themselves suspended for the Alaves match next week. Upto 8 defenders unavailable. City is gonna get some revenge on LPB midweek.
LPB won't work with coach like Xabi Alonso who likes positional play/tactic ala Pep's style. It happened a lot before with Lopetegui, Benitez... Hope it will continue that way
LPB supporters crying like b!tches is delicious schadenfreude. But their board not backing Alonso means that this SHOULD continue, given the diva nature of their roster. Setting aside my disdain for LPB, even if those players were on other clubs, they'd still be entirely unlikeable.
Honestly I haven't watched them too much in detail to see what Xabi is actually trying to do. But yeah, it's probably a mismatch between the coach and players in terms of how they want to play.
Not sure we want City to smash them and trigger a managerial switch. We might want him to see the season out.
Good point. How about a hard-fought and bloody affair, with a slight loss or draw, and controversial ref decisions? LPB LOOOOOVES to cry and b!tch about the refs, so why not give them what they want, and Alonso some cover? It'll give RMTV hours of material to feed to their supporters.
Xabi has also been infected with this RM bug. He already cried about the ref during the post-match presser. I think Xabi is in desperation mode, clutching at any excuses he can find at the moment other than signaling the real issue(s) at hand. I kinda feel bad for him, because I feel the players have let him down big time. Though I must admit that his team selections and in-game management have also been questionable. At the same time, it goes without saying that I hope his misery continues (and worsens) until RM ends the season trophyless and he never wins anything with RM. At the end of the day though they are only 4 points behind us on the table and are still in the running for every silverware. They can still turn this around. So I'll reserve my excitement, for now.
Interesting how the mic catches players complaining to the ref as he's dishing out cards and Rodrygo repeating "respect where you are"--they're just not used to a ref who refuses to bend to their sense of entitlement. The ref wasn't being excessive, he was only carding in proportion to the disrespect they were giving him.
Setting aside that they're LPB and for that, I despise them, but what a pile of unlikeable turds. Now, I kinda hope Alonso survives this, so that this clown show endures all season long at the turdabeu.
Funny how they obsess over our “play-acting,” ignoring that it’s a player trait, not a club trait. Neymar would’ve done Neymar things on any pitch, and let’s not forget how RM fans were salivating at the idea of signing him back then. Moreover, C. Ronaldo could have won several Oscars with all of his play-acting, not to mention Vinicius and other RM players. Spare me the moral high-ground. But sure, let’s ignore all that while their current players strut around acting smug, entitled, and downright bratty with the officials. Absolute garbage of a club.
I think Alonso himself, as a player and now as a coach, has always been a respectable and honorable person. He doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting. But he's also not the right man for that job. LPB is not a club for a "system" guy who demands a certain way to play from his players. They've mainly had success from letting their galacticos do their thing with a bunch of role players doing the grunt work.
I think this is fair, but I also think that they're still a bit mismatched, in terms of how many guys they have playing out of their "natural positions."
Now Mbappe looks doubtful for tomorrow. That CWC perhaps finally weighing in. Although they've had injury problems last season too. Rumor is the club told Endrick to hold off on getting a house in France. Can't believe they black balled the kid, who as green as he may be still scored goals last season when subbed in, and now they may ask him to perform City ...
I guess you are joking(?). Yeah, not a good fit for Barca considering he plays the same position as Yamal (I've never saw him play anywhere else on the pitch) and who complains when he's not in the starting XI.
