Where are you playing now? Some HS Football stadium?

Yep Hoover High School. Pretty good size.. for a HS stadium... but it has the drainage along the sides, especially in the corners and the crown.

So if they can get a stadium built, are they looking to jump to the A-League? I seem to remember some talk about this. If they could bring down their attendance a bit they would be at an acceptable A-League level. ;)

LOL, a jump to the A-League is in the Menace future.. the question is when. Im not even sure it's dependant upon getting a stadium though I a sure that would seal the deal.

The A-League could use some strong drawing teams, with teams like Rochester and maybe even Seattle possibly moving up to MLS.

Any news on the stadium front? Aren't they in danger of losing a $10 million grant if they don't get this off the ground soon?

Dammit, saw this pop up top and hoping it was something new!
No news on the stadium for quite awhile and no coach for the 2004 season has been announced yet. I believe the grant has been lost and they'll have to apply for it again, I think it's given based on specific plans in a specific community and once those plans went away so did the money. Hopefully someone is taking care of getting the players back for the upcoming season.
I sent an e-mail for Menace info through their web-site and they said Kabwe should be back and that things were looking good for the upcoming season, rah, rah. But I'm wondering who's going to be coaching them...

Send the Menace your resume next time you email them for info. Just don't forget your tailgating friends once you've made it to the big time. ;)

Somehow my coaching experience of the women's club team in college, some u-16 girls and player/manager for assorted Men's and Over-The-Hill clubs won't get me on the list. Besides, I can't coach for a club that can't offer beer in lieu of a coaches salary, stupid high school field...;)

They already built a brand new multi million dollar stadium. To quote the article "The stadium was built without the help of Krause and his Menace"

Is that Menace as a noun or verb??

West Des Moines schools built a new high school football stadium. Not really the same thing as the Menace Stadium.

    No suites, kitchen, roof etc

    Money Problems

I think the Menace are in dire need of cash. They have an overly greedy owner that wants every thing to happen for the club, but at the same time there is no way that Des Moines can make his dream a reality. The Morellia/Juventus tour was all about Krause fullfilling a dream and it probably cost the club a quarter million dollars. Smart business move there! Great work with the youth however, but that will not survive if they continue to have black eyes with the community.

Oh yea, I saw ex-coach Greg Petersen in Des Moines last weekend. I thought he was on his way to Paris for a Division 2 team there??? or did he get shoved out the door by the Menace just like Calloway and McMahon?? Just like PanicFC says, "Sounds Fishy" Everyone needs to understand that a stadium will not be built in a year or ten years. It was a dream that not even Krause could pay for to make it happen.

    Re: Money Problems

Unfortunately this is feeling I have been getting as well. Right now I just want the club to keep playing soccer and would be satisified if they could get Boltnar, Disang, Jones and Kabwe back.
