I don't know why they even come out with a list. Those FIFA c0cksuckes know they are giving it to Kaká even though Totti should win it hands down. If any other SS (Rooney, Tevez,) would score 26 league goals in a season FIFA would blow their load, but Totti goes unnoticed.

FIFA don't decide this one, journalists vote on it. It's the first time that players outside of Europe have been included in the Ballon d'Or, and there are 3 non-Europe based players on the list of 50:-

    Rogerio Ceni (Bra) Sao Paulo
    Younis Mohmoud (Iraq) Algharafa
    Memo Ochoa (Mex) America

Also Beckham is on it, but my guess is he's there for what he did in Spain, rather than US ;)

I must say I think that does show that they still have a limited idea of what goes on outside Europe, I don't think Ochoa was even the best player in the Mexican League for the last year, anyway, at least it seems they finally recogonise that there is a Mexican League.....

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but this has to improve Memo's chances of leaving to Europe. He grabbed a lot of attention in the Copa America, but with this kind of recognition it validates him to a much greater audience. Did that make any sense? I couldn't get it to sound right.

Euro Clubs notice him and several would love to have him, but remember he's in Club America, they won't let him go unless it's for a large sum which I doubt will happen.

Zenden dude you sound a lot like steven cohen from WSD..........scary........:p
but remeber that totti didn't won shit last year(ok coppa italia), since this award is for the 06/07 season which doesn't include the world cup.........but to me totti is top three since he was the european golden boot for the season........

Casillas is going to have to deal with Guardado now.

Memo now has a shot at it. I would still take Villar over Ochoa though.
