Daley is off his frickin rocker!! I'm serious. It seems like he is paranoid about this 'small airplane' threat. The whole TFR Temp Flight
Restriction around downtown will do nothing but prohibit the law-abiding pilots from enjoying a flight over the city. Meanwhile, someone with bad
intentions would be through the TFR so fast that NOTHING could be done in time to stop it! What a joke. How long does it take and airplane to fly
what, three miles is the TFR???

And Meigs, tearing it up in the middle of the night!! What a frickin thud! Corrupt politician. He KNOWS that there are people out there that use that airport. And do the average citizens of Chicago really think that Meigs is a threat to safety?? Would they really much rather have a park there than an airport??

Don't we already have a park that runs the length of Chicago?? Guess Meigs got in the way of that eh??

One rumer that I've heard is that it's his wife's pet project.

The air threat is more or less a cover for his desire to tear down Meigs and put up the park. The sneaky bastard that he is, he still is a good mayor for the most part. Personally I see no reason to tear down Meigs in place of a park. The lakefront is amazing as it is and the short plot of land that Meigs is on really doesn't detract from the veiw at all...the towering mistake that is the new Soldier Field however...

Meigs would make a great place for a Firehouse.

Think there's really enough land there?

Yep. Even if there's not room for our 40,000 seat stadium :D more can easily be added.

I think so as part of the new park plan was to reclaim land from the lakefront.

Well, it started 7 years ago. I'm assuming that they've been missing the contribution deadline every year since.
