Fans- I think we need to here from the three headed soccer monster that is in charge of the issues that we are really interested in. I dub this monster, "The GNC" -Gulati/Nicol/Capobianco. Imbriano may tell us about ticket sales and LA Law Tornberg will regale us with Tico stories. We want to know about meaty soccer issues. Midnight Riders unite and demand that The GNC be present on Satuday! Support our Revs!
Maybe we should generate a list of questions that we pass on to the GNC before Saturday. (1) What's JMM's status? Hows his ankle? (2) Did the Knate contract issues get resolved? (3) Who besides Downing, Leonard, Singer and I.Kante are you looking at for Dev Roster slots? (4) What do you plan to do for a 4th forward--esp if JMM's anke doesn't hold up? (5) In light of above--Any consideration to signing Dante Washington? (6) How is the quest for THE PHANTOM (AMF) coming? (7) What will you do with the Cap and roster spot if you don't find the ideal AMF in the near future? (8) Who helped himself the most in preseason? Feel Free To Add to the List---- BTW, it would be helpful if someone recorded the Q&A's and later transcribed the essence of what was said and post it to the Board for those of us that can't make the meeting. At the risk of beating a dead horse... "Given the unfortunate circumstances regarding playing both CCC games in Costa Rica, what if any, plans are in the works for other non-league games that would not be economically feasible to play in Gillette Stadium? Have you considered building a simple "auxilliary stadium" which would be maybe a few thousand aluminum bleachers around the Patriots practice field (used for their training camp) that the revs could use, provided it was of regulation size?" Note to those who think I can't let this go: I'm not re-hashing the "why" part of the question, but just acknowledge the fact that it was not an ideal scenario, and ask what they plan to do for the next time we're in the CCC or hosting an Open Cup game. The CR fiasco will be forgiven if they can learn from it and take steps to come up with alternatives that work for the club financially and for the fans. Tom
I think the most important thing is that, when they schedule Open Cup games or playoff games, fans show up in good numbers. If we had a track record for showing up for those types of events, we'd get home CCC matches. That said, I like your idea.
