The Margareth Sullivan substack’s article is definitely worth reading. “Margaret Sullivan skewers the New York Times saying “its politics coverage often seems broken and clueless — or even blatantly pro-Trump. There’s so much of this false-balance nonsense in the Times that there’s a Twitter (X) account devoted to mocking it, called New York Times Pitchbot.” “Sometimes, sadly, it’s hard to tell the difference between the satire and the reality”
An other good piece from Parker Molloy. The media "sanewashing" of Trump insanities may cause this country unrepairable damages. Parker Malloy: “This ‘sanewashing’ of Trump’s statements isn’t just poor journalism; it’s a form of misinformation that poses a threat to democracy. By continually reframing Trump’s incoherent and often dangerous rhetoric as conventional political discourse, major news outlets are failing in their duty to inform the public and are instead providing cover for increasingly erratic behavior from a former—and potentially future—president.” “The consequences of this journalistic malpractice extend far beyond misleading headlines. By laundering Trump’s words in this fashion, the media is actively participating in the erosion of our shared reality. When major news outlets consistently present a polished version of Trump’s statements, they create an alternate narrative that exists alongside the unfiltered truth available on social media and in unedited footage.”
We really are living in a Simpson's episode. Has any major media outlet put out a piece talking about the insanity of having a guy who attempted a coup, hasn't been tried, much less convicted, and he is just running for office as if it's another day in America while other media both sides this as if it's another day? Like, if every story doesn't begin with "GOP candidate who failed a coup against the US" or "...failed to murder his own vice president" or some such is failing at journalism. Criticize Kamala, Lord knows I have and will continue to. But at least she has an agenda and plans. His is just...whatever gets applause and don't talk too loudly about the whole dictator thing and why am I shouting about concentration camps!?! Media is dropping the ball as if they won't be targeted day 1.
Olivia Nuzzi sleeping with a source doesn't surprise me. Not the first time she's done unethical stuff too. And an incredibly foolish person. Anyway, Nuzzi has always been awful and there's a reason the Biden admin never took her seriously. And she complained how buttoned up they were. Lady, you would not last five seconds in a serious environment. "New York magazine on Thursday said its Washington correspondent, Olivia Nuzzi, is on leave after learning the star journalist had allegedly engaged in a romantic relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.," @OliverDarcy reports for STATUS https://t.co/Cu6z7l123K— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) September 20, 2024
Just when you thought the show was done with RFKR, they bring him back for a distracting subplot. This is like Keeley’s ad agency in Season 3 of Ted Lasso.
Sleeping was the wrong choice of words, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Either way, Nuzzi’s awful. Nothing more.
Whatever she was doing with this complete nutjob, was unethical at best. She should have known better but honestly I am not surprised, she has always been a hack and a dishonest journalist. Her last puff job on the felon was nauseating.
I trust this blogger. You can or not, your choice. https://jabberwocking.com/when-is-a-hand-count-not-really-a-hand-count/ The article is paywalled so I can’t confirm his interpretation, but here’s an example of either anti conservative bias or pro drama bias. The Georgia BOE is requiring hand counts. That’s the headline. But the actual policy is to hand count the number of ballots, NOT hand count all the votes for all the races. Still a dumb policy, still likely illegal under Georgia law, but not the pro-chaos crap the headline implies.
"Many people would be honored to be cucked by a Kennedy" imagine being ryan lizza>leave your family for a younger woman >get me too'd>get engaged to said woman>failed book deal with fiancée>wake up at 4 AM every day to write a newsletter >fiancée starts sexting an older man with brain worms— rebekah (@rebekahentralgo) September 20, 2024
I always get Lizza & Cilizza mixed up Anyhoo, he broke up with her in the Politico Playbook A note from our own Ryan Lizza: “Because of my connection to this story through my ex-fiancée, my editors and I have agreed that I won’t be involved in any coverage of Kennedy in Playbook or elsewhere at POLITICO.”ⁿ https://www.politico.com/newsletter...0/playing-small-ball-in-the-states-00132333?3
Here’s another piece from Politico about Lizza, albeit somewhat older. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/12/11/new-yorker-fires-ryan-lizza-sexual-misconduct-290504 So he and Nuzzi make the perfect couple, a pair of vacuous journalistic whores who don’t think rules apply to them. In their own way, they’re two peas in a pod like Donald and Melania.
Statement from Ryan Lizza on RFK Jr.-Olivia Nuzzi story, via Playbook: “Because of my connection to this story through my ex-fiancée, my editors and I have agreed that I won't be involved in any coverage of Kennedy in Playbook or elsewhere at POLITICO.”— Dylan Byers (@DylanByers) September 20, 2024
Oh well....I guess the Lizza-Nuzzi wedding will not happen anymore...What a big loss for society. Those two hacks deserved each other.
I posted this on the tweets thread, but I see it belongs here: ell. oh. ell. pic.twitter.com/ZjKal4dbRn— Florida Chris (@chrislongview) September 20, 2024
Last night was the premiere of Rachel Maddow documentary “To Russia with Lev”. At some point in the movie, Parnas name checked Ken Vogel as Rudy Guiliani’s guy inside the NYT. Color me surprised…..
