Lautaro might not make it. Even so, Inter have a lot of weapons this year. I like Susic, think he's a talented baller. Pio Esposito just got his first goal.
On the one hand, you at look at the table and think....great start....maybe we got a chance here at a statement performance. On the other you look at our home form and overall standard of performance....and think uh oh Loss to Torino in which we failed to create any chances for most of the game.....sure we beat Verona but lets be honest we were bad in that match.....and then there's Lille, a 1-0 loss that could have been 3 or 4 nil. I'm confident we'll get better and I hope we've learned enough from those negative performances to help us here and in a big game you always expect extra effort as a given, but we'll get hammered if we repeat the performances mentioned above.
If Inter play like the champions they truly are, we have no chance of getting anything from this match. Despite what the Pallotta/Zeman/Mongo dickheads on this forum say, our coach is not an idiot. Maybe we get lucky and exploit a mistake. A draw would be a great result for us.
Against my better judgment, going to have a punt on over 3.5 goals. Would be nice to see an open game and have a real go at them.
Game is relatively even until Roma get to the final 3rd. Pellegrini for Ferguson would be my change. Ferguson, Soule and Dybala in the few moments they have been on the pitch together has shown the most promise. Dybala is wasted with so little ideas coming from behind in attcking midfield. They need a number 9 to do some of the ugly work up top.
I mean on the one hand I understand the comfort zone thing......on the other hand why play Ndicka, Celik and Wesley essentially out of position? Yes Angelino is out but why not slot Rensch or Tsimikas in at LWB and keep those 3 in their usual, strongest positions? Surely the wrong time to experiment. We haven't been bad, just not good enough.
I also think Svilar should save that shot. I think he was distracted by expecting a clear offside....which unfortunately it wasn't.
Dybala, Soulé, Baldanzi,Bailey...4 left footed player for 1 position and no one to compete Pellegrini. Fcuk Massara
At 60 mins they really deserved to be 2-1 up but it just wasnt to be. It was clear Dybala had much more freedom playing in the 10 role. Gasperini needs to drop the no number 9 lineup. That one change from the start and its likely at least a draw tonight.
I think we showed we are capable of going up against the best team in the league and give them ta game of it. Unfortunate to not come away with something to show for it. We looked very uncomfortable and disjointed the first 20mins or so, can't help but blame the goal on the uncertainty of Gasp's approach for this game. Not the best game to be experimenting but we recovered well enough to press Inter. The attack let us down - no one to act as an outlet as Soulé & Dybala were marked out and Pelle was absolutely invisible.
