    LMAO what a game.

Some really great performances today that won us the game, but dear god some of these players are disasters.

I like Borja a lot, his finishing is not great yet but we create an enormous amount of chances with him on the pitch because of his runs, him and Pellegrini were 10/10 today.

Our defenders are just abysmal. The tactics were sound it was all down to horrific individual defending by our 3 CB... one as bad as the other.

Well, thank fcuk for that. Not winning that game would have been shambolic given the overall chances created and the fact we conceded 3 goals from nothing situations. That really takes some doing. Not sure what the hell Smalling and Kumbulla were playing at today.

Again, these games have never been the issue.

So if defenders keep making idiot mistakes every game that's not on the coach? Spezia doesn't have world class centerbacks but even playing with an incredibly high defensive line the goals they conceded were not like the ones we did. Why is that? Because their coach has drilled a system that helps boost the quality of their defenders. They have cohesion, cover for each other, track back, know when to throw it to the side etc. Our current defenders with a proper coach that knows how to train defensive players would not see us concede 3 goals against Spezia.

This was as humiliating a win as a team could have. They will never make the champions league with Fonseca. If they expect that to happen with this roster, they need a better coach.

as the game went on he was much, much better. You have to give a young player like that a run of 3-4 games to really evaluate him.

You must have been watching a Dortmund rerun instead. He easily fluffed 3 goals in the second half alone.

I would agree if the issue was players not in position or not being able to keep a line. All the mistakes idiotic, physical errors on plays that were nothing at all. No coach can train their player not to flail away at the ball like they are having a seizure or basic 1v1 defending that you learn as a 8 year old.

He blew one real chance and missed on a 1/4 of a chance. He also created several really good chances and opened things up on the right side with his runs.

I'm absolutely ok with blown chances from a young player who doesn't see the pitch, the scoring touch is the last thing to come back. Being invisible is far worse.

From despair to elation after Pellegrini scored.

Once again we missed too many chances despite scoring four times but one can see how Mayoral's style of play helps the team to create chances, high quality chances too. He must start next Sunday's game against Verona, fitness permitting.

The worry for me is our defence: it was disgraceful to see such quality and expensive players concede such pathetic goals. Fonseca must resolve that situation quickly or we will be going nowhere fast.

Atalanta trash Milan, could have been 6-0. Inter tie Udinese. 6 points off first and 4 points off second, and we are on the verge of sacking our coach. Total clown show from top to bottom.

Really should consider moving them around. Kumbulla has played the sweeper role and played it well at Verona. Smalling has the pace to handle the right side but for some reason Fonseca needs him in the center. Those first 6 months Smalling was a beast who never put a foot wrong. As big an impact as Benatia in the defence but the mistakes continue to keep mounting up.

Pellegrini’s best game in a long long time. Not his biggest fan but if he continues like that then bring it on.

FONSECA OUT! Doesn’t change a thing. Delaying the inevitable

I think, we should go beyond really caring about the performance and just be relieved we some how got a result today..... We have to go through hell to win games against shit teams. No wonder decent teams humiliate us.

Lopezshit was shit beyond belief today, an absolute Olsen 2.0. He could have done better on all 3 goals. What a waste of money.

It looked like Smalling intentionally fanned on the ball on their third goal.

The title is up for grabs this year. It’s a shame Roma aren’t stronger than they are.

Yea, I'm thinking we would have been better off keeping the 15 mil or so we paid for him and let Fazio center the young CB. Couldn't have known how poorly he'd play his season given how well he played last but he's really poor.
