im from the DC boards but i just wanted to know something. i've been hearing rumors about McKeon coming to DC (just speculation on somebodys part) do you guys know anything about it?
You are welcome to him. His contract with the league was up and the Wizards didn't want to sign him. He wants to much. So all you would have to do is get him to sign a new contract with the league and he is all yours.
Tmas, In my sincere opinion, if you guys get McKeon, it would be a great pickup. You'll be getting a guy with something to prove. I big guy, with speed and skill. Although sometimes with an attitutde as well. In 99, while playing with the Rapids, he was on the fringe of being a regular US national team player, taking part on the US team that finished 3rd in 99 Confederations Cup, beating Germany along the way. McKeon was red carded in one of those games, but was praised by Arena for his contributions. After that, he fell off the radar screen, due in part, to his attitude (a bad relationship with Glynn Mynerick, a friend and assistant of Arena's), as well as the emergence of Chris Armas on the scene. He also had problems with Bob Gansler here in KC. In my opinion, if you combined McKeons skill and physical attributes, with KC's starter at that position, Kerry Zavagnin's attitude and work ethic, you'd have a force to be reckoned with. I think if Matt can conqer his demons, he can still be a solid & bonified star in this league. But his time is running out. James
While most of us aren't neccesarilly fans of his, he would be a great pickup for someone. His time here just ran out. It would do him a lot of good to move somewhere else and refocus.
Heh... might you be just a little bit biased matt? Considering the fact that if he would have known who you were, he would have climbed the barrier to try and kick your ass at the USOC game 2 years ago?
It is called modivational speaking Spoon style. Come up and ask me about it to long to type. But seriously he has all the talent in the world but pissed it all away because he tries only 55% of the time.
