No, unfortunately. That's Juve's third set of subs, so McKennie is getting a full 90 on his debut. Hell yeah.
This is the first time I've paid close attention to Juve, but now I'm clearly an expert, and as such, I do think they're too reliant on a 35-year-old Ronaldo offensively. Obviously, they can't add someone as good as Ronaldo, but I feel like they need a 2nd big-time offensive threat to draw some attention off Ronaldo and make good on all the possession they've had. Suarez would be great, but the announcers said that's not happening?
Two almost goals for Wes. Decent game from Ronaldo and this would be 3-0 or 4-0. Too many good chances for him to have 0.
I've watched it a couple times already man if it wasn't a goal there must have only been a sliver of the ball not across.
And Juve's middle suddenly looked softer once Wes moved out wide. I'm completely impressed. What a game.
Interesting comment from the announcer. This lineup was experimental. He mentioned 4 other players that should start.
Seriously, this team gets to add Dybala in a week or two. They look every bit a favorite for the title again, even starting an American. Aslo, gotta like Wes transitioning to the RWB role - if they already know he's got that versatility it will help him get minutes.
Fantastic debut. I don't know that you could ask for much else from him today. There are always details to iron out, but on the whole, terrific match. On a selfish level, this is infinitely more enjoyable than watching Schalke fruitlessly flail about. Here's to McKennie's continued growth and success.
