Really nice work from Wes in his defensive area. Anticipates a bad pass, claims it, smoothly works around some defenders and finds and gets a ball to Betancur with room to run forward. Betancur promptly ran right into a defender and lost the ball, but that's not on Wes.
Yep, he may not be the type to make the highlight reel often, but Wes did his part, had a decent game, and didn't look out of place.
McKennie 50 yard sprint to get back into defensive position in the offensive half, and it helps force an Atlanta pass out of bounds. Little things.
McKennie was impressive pressuring the ball and making forward runs and recovery runs at the end of that game. He’s not super fast, but he seems super fit.
McKennie is not starting today, and neither is Ronaldo. Odd. They have to win today and hope other results go their way
Juventus are away against Bologna today. The game starts at 2:45 pm eastern on ESPN+. 💺 Bench: Buffon, Pinsoglio, Bonucci, Demiral, Frabotta, Arthur, McKennie, Bernardeschi, Fagioli, Cristiano Ronaldo, Felix Correia.#BolognaJuve #FinoAllaFine #ForzaJuve— JuventusFC 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@juventusfcen) May 23, 2021 The Serie A Champions League race heading into the final match day: 3. AC Milan 76 pts +31 GD @ Atalanta 4. Napoli 76 pts + 45 GD vs. Hellas Verona 5. Juventus 75 pts +36 GD Serie A uses head to head points and then head to head goal difference as the first two tiebreakers. AC Milan thus has the tie breaker against Juventus (Juventus lost 0-3 at home and won 3-1 away giving them a -1 head-to-head GD). Juventus won 2-1 at home and lost 0-1 away against Napoli so a tie would go to overall goal difference. Confused?, well in a three way tie Milan finish third and then it comes down to overall goal difference between Napoli and Juventus: The three-way head to head standings: 3. Milan 6 pts +2 GD 4 (tie). Napoli 6 pts -1 GD 4 (tie). Juventus 6 pts -1 GD Obviously Napoli have a significant overall goal difference advantage heading into the day.
No love for Wes? Solid season and hopefully you get a little more love from the USMNT fans next season! Forza Wes! Fino alla fine!
Looks like he's gonna be a super sub to start the year. Or maybe it's just nursing him back from that little knee issue he had.
