Not only is he representing the US well, but he has a diabetes charity. Apparently he's been contributing $100 for everey goal, assist and win he has with Columbus, the Nats and Everton. This is the first we've heard of it. What a cool guy! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/us/news/2003/01/20/mcbride_everton_ap/
all this publicity since McBride joined Everton should really boost Columbus Crew ticket sales IF he comes back to the Crew. BTW, I heard McBride has a wife and child. anyone know if they are still here or if they went to England? That could be a sign of Brian's long term plans.
It was reported in the British press this morning that it's $300 per goal! They say that so far he's raised $900 from his time at Everton.
yea his wife and kid stayed here for his 3 month stay in england... he is very involved in the local diabetes association here in columbus. they have a 'swim for diabetes' every spring to raise money that i have done for over 10 years and the past 4 or 5 years mcbride has been the lead 'sports' spokesperson, the last 2 years he has been at the pool i swim at signing autographs for kids and doing interviews... he is just an all around classy guy.
